November 8, a day that will live in infamy.

Not to everyone, mind you, but particularly to Democrats, liberals and GOP establishment #NeverTrumpers that still can’t understand or accept what happened a year ago today. Donald Trump’s triumphant victory in the Electoral College would make him president. TV news anchors and pundits working election night acted as though they’d just been kicked in the mid-section after a gluttonous meal. Some looked like they had tears in their eyes; their lips trembled; others pinched themselves in a vain attempt to awaken from a horrible nightmare.

The rest of us just hooted, hollered and celebrated. It was like the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team defeated the Soviets all over again. Or Apollo 13 gently floated back to earth. The relief and excitement was tangible. Some found Trump’s triumph was sweet; others thought Hillary Clinton’s downfall was sweeter. It didn’t matter – the day had come.

For those who supported Trump and earnestly hoped some kind of “miracle” would transpire to keep the Clintons permanently out of the Oval Office it was a day and night to never forget. It was like Christmas morning had arrived early, though this particular gift would endure for years and was more meaningful than any knickknack or stocking stuffer could ever be.

The chance to “Make America Great Again” was the most gratifying of all rewards. Political correctness had succumbed; there was a chance to render the country whole once more.

After they’d gathered themselves Democrats commenced the blame game. There was “Russian collusion,” of course, then there were attempts to sway members of the Electoral College to vote for someone other than Trump and lastly there were hordes of angry leftist protesters who took to the streets to claim Trump was illegitimate and should be “resisted.”

And last week it came out that Crooked Hillary had fixed the whole Democrat nominating process in her favor.

None other than ultimate Democrat honk Donna Brazile turned out to be the snitch of all snitches. Brazile wrote in Politico Magazine, “When you have an open contest without an incumbent and competitive primaries, the party comes under the candidate’s control only after the nominee is certain. When I was manager of Al Gore’s campaign in 2000, we started inserting our people into the DNC in June. This victory fund agreement, however, had been signed in August 2015, just four months after Hillary announced her candidacy and nearly a year before she officially had the nomination…

“The funding arrangement with HFA [Hillary for America] and the victory fund agreement was not illegal, but it sure looked unethical. If the fight had been fair, one campaign would not have control of the party before the voters had decided which one they wanted to lead. This was not a criminal act, but as I saw it, it compromised the party’s integrity.”

Do ya think? What integrity?

Brazile’s piece describes how the Democrat National Committee was left in dire financial straits by Obama and the putridly poor management of deposed former chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. As a result, shortly after officially announcing her candidacy, Hillary’s people swooped in and offered to help the party pay its basic operating bills by putting the national entity on a starvation allowance. In return, the campaign took control of most of the money the party raised nationwide.

Crooked Hillary struck again. I assume she’ll claim she didn’t know anything about this too (just like with the Trump dossier).

It’s a sensational scandal but is it all true? Keep in mind this is Donna Brazile writing and it’s in Politico Magazine. This story didn’t come from a conservative reporter penning for a right-leaning publication. For those still tempted to say “no way, no how” there’s almost zero chance it’s not real. The recent revelations of the Clintons’ crooked dealings in the Uranium One deal showed, once again, how sleazy the former first couple really is.

Now you’ve got longtime loyalists like Brazile confirming what everyone already conjectured about the 2016 Democrat primaries. Pundits frequently argue the Republican Party is in trouble over Donald Trump, but it’s the Democrats who look like they’re about to implode – and it’s not just speculation, either. They have no leaders, no agenda and now, no secrets to hide behind.

Just look around…if you’re a Democrat, who do you trust these days? Bernie Sanders? He’s a senile old coot. Do you think Chuck Schumer is more ethical? Nancy Pelosi? Obama? Heck, even Brazile all-but suggested the outgoing president screwed the party over financially. All of those big dollar fundraisers still only led to mountains of debt and a party apparatus completely dependent on the Clintons to sustain itself.

Contrast this fact with Donald Trump’s lean and mean operation during last year’s campaign. Report after report insinuated there was no way Trump and the Republicans could keep pace with a Democrat machine complete with hundreds of paid staffers filling in all the holes in Crooked Hillary’s candidacy.

All the data and sleazy get-out-the-vote operations couldn’t push Hillary past Trump. Sure, the party managed to mine millions of useless surplus votes in tightly packed New York and California, but in the brilliant Electoral College system our Founding Fathers set up, you can’t just lean on the most populated states to choose a president.

Naturally, the Bernie Sanders folks weren’t happy when they received news about Crooked Hillary’s primary fix. Perhaps it’s time for Democrats to have their own moments of self-reflection.

David French wrote at National Review, “The Democratic machine united from the beginning of the campaign — even straining ethics and integrity (Brazile’s words) — to foist a fundamentally corrupt, arrogant, and incompetent politician on the American body politic. Liberal pundits scold the Republican establishment for ‘not doing enough’ to stop Trump. They call out GOP politicians for ‘cowardice,’ and sometimes the critiques are fair. But is cowardice worse than complicity?

“Conservatives have been fighting vicious, public battles over everything from character and integrity to political tactics and strategy. The media have been eager to cover this ‘Republican civil war.’ But the Democrats unquestionably need to fight a war of their own. They need to have their own honest debate, and it cannot truly begin until they take off their rose-colored glasses and see clearly for the first time the candidate they presented to America.”

It was only a matter of time before the truth came out and Democrats began turning on Clinton. For months after reemerging from her self-imposed hiatus Hillary has been touring the country (and world) peddling her sad tale of being cheated out of the presidency and trying to make it look like hers was a redemption story to pass down to posterity.

Hillary’s book “What Happened” generated its fair share of press attention but everyone’s come to realize there wasn’t really anything new or revealing about the Democrat failure’s explanation for her loss.

The months since the book’s release have shown the real truth is just the sorry tale of power hungry people seeking the most important office in the world just so they can live well off the taxpayers’ dime for another few years and have people all across the country pretend to worship them. Brazile admitted that in the weeks before the election she suspected something might be wrong since there was no enthusiasm out there for Hillary.

Those of us covering the campaign could sense it. The election results weren’t so “shocking” to a lot of us. Welcome, yes – surprising, no.

Make no mistake – this goes much deeper than just Hillary; it’s the whole Clinton family involved here. Do you think sane people are still going to be calling on the Clinton Foundation to distribute money to the world’s poor? The entire Clinton name is now in disgrace – what a difference a year makes.

That’s not to say it might still take more time for the Democrats to cast off the devil in Clinton clothing. Debra Heine of PJ Media reported, “Hillary Clinton was awarded ‘the 2017 Democratic Woman of the Year Award’ Thursday, as an explosive tell-all about how she secretly took over the DNC to rig the 2016 primaries rocked the political world. The award was given by the Woman’s National Democratic Club in recognition of Clinton’s ‘extraordinary contributions to American politics and international affairs, as well as the inspiration she has provided to women and girls around the world.’

“’Extraordinary contributions to American politics’ — well, that’s one way of putting it.”

Crooked Hillary’s contribution to politics has only been to expose before the world just how corrupt and sad the system has become – and how ends oriented the left really is. The Clinton couple had a lot of people fooled for a long time. After all this sleaze has hit the light of day there’s no longer anywhere for them to hide.

I wonder if Hill & Bill will be given speaking slots in the 2020 Democrat convention?

For his part, President Trump was in a conciliatory mood – towards Bernie Sanders. Diana Stancy Correll of the Washington Examiner reported Trump told Laura Ingraham of Fox News, “I think it’s a major story. Now I don’t know if the mainstream, fake media, because they are fake and phony, but I just don’t know if they’re going to pick it up. But I’ll tell you, that is a big story, what she’s saying. It’s illegal, number one, and it’s really very unfair to Bernie Sanders. I’m not a Bernie Sanders fan, although I must say, I got a lot of his votes when he was thrown out. Many of those people voted for me because of trade, because I agreed with him on trade.”

Yes indeed, a lot of Bernie’s bros probably preferred Trump to ‘ol Crooked Hillary. Who wouldn’t?

Thoughts of Election Day 2016 still bring smiles to the faces of millions of people. Even better, in most ways, Trump has proven to be a very good if not exceptional president. It just goes to show the good guy sometimes wins – and the bad gal (and her hubby) needs to go to jail.
