Commentary: Zero Palestinian Refugees in America

by Steve Cortes

For three years now, America’s sovereignty and safety have already been vaporized enough by Biden.

But the leftists, predictably, want even more. Now, they pine for a mass importation of Palestinian refugees into America. Fire alarm-pulling Congressman Jamaal Bowman of New York declared that “the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine.”

Following the horrific terror attacks upon Israel from Hamas and the resulting swift Israeli Defense Forces response, American globalists ascertain yet another opportunity to import a wave of unvetted migrants likely to bring violence and social discord to our already frayed republic.

In response, we patriotic populists should channel Michael Corleone responding to Senator Geary’s bribe demands in “The Godfather II.” Our answer on new Mideast refugees is this: nothing. Zero. Not one Palestinian refugee belongs here in America.

The reasons: Mideast alternatives, dangers to American society, and the U.S. economy.

Middle East problem

The wealthy Arab friends and Iranian regime foes of the United States must handle any refugee issues in their region. After decades of constant intervention in the Middle East, from Presidents George H.W. Bush to Barack Obama, common sense Americans smartly turn to an America First foreign policy of realism and restraint.

Our nation spent trillions of dollars and lost some of the best and brightest young citizens fighting in the misbegotten adventures concocted by the globalist interventionists of Foggy Bottom, defense contractors, and Beltway think tanks. For these giant sacrifices of blood and treasure, the American people were “rewarded” with a region that is less stable, and every bit as hostile to American interests.

So, it is well past time to insist that the nations we protected, the kingdoms that benefitted from decades of petrodollars into their coffers, assume real regional leadership. Palestinian refugees must head to Dubai, not Des Moines. They must flee to Kuwait, not Kansas.

Dangers to America

America’s border already teems with chaos as Biden’s open-borders recklessness incentivizes and welcomes in over 8 million illegal migrants during his White House tenure. Simultaneously, America’s city centers devolve into Mad Max-style zones of shocking violence, a trend that began with the appalling 2020 BLM riots and persists to this day.

Against this backdrop, how could America possibly welcome a group of people with a history of systemic violence and hatred of Western values? Per a recent Jerusalem Post poll, 71% of Palestinians in Israel supported the murder of the Yaniv brothers, young Jewish men killed by a Hurawa terrorist. More broadly, that same survey of 1,200 Palestinians found that a staggering 68% support the formation of armed terror organizations, like Hamas.

Aside from pervasive pro-terror attitudes, the actual track record of violence among Palestinian refugees should also serve as a dire warning. Just two months ago, the United Nations had to evacuate staffers from a large Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, where 13 people were killed in intense intra-Palestinian gang violence. The gangs chose the local school as the Palestinian “OK Corral” for their shootouts, with the battles lasting four days. Lovely stuff.

Tragically, America has already endured painful consequences from the similarly wrongheaded settlement of masses of Afghans resulting from Biden’s botched withdrawal. I warned two years ago in my National Pulse op-ed and in my cable TV monologue about the risks of inviting masses of unvetted migrants, mostly young men, with little ability or willingness to integrate and assimilate into American society.

If anything, my predictions were too optimistic given the violent crime wave already unleashed by Afghans here in America. Since that time, here is a sampling of the serious offenses committed by resettled Afghan men:

-Afghan migrant charged with the rape of a Montana teenager

-Evacuees arrested for attack of an American female Army soldier at Ft. Bliss, NM

-Virginia Afghan migrant convicted of sexual assault of a three year old while housed at US Marine base Quantico

-Another Virginia-settled Afghan migrant indicted for molesting a 14 year old

-Two young Afghan men charged with child sex crimes and spousal abuse while housed at Ft. McCoy in Wisconsin

Given this troubling sampling of treachery, does it make any sense for America to pursue similar risks by inviting even more Mideast refugee men?

U.S. economy

No matter how one views the policy implications of accepting masses of refugees, here’s the cold financial reality: we cannot afford such largesse. The American middle class struggles mightily right now, as revealed by the data and their valid financial anxiety.

According to recent Bloomberg News data, the average middle-class citizen has lost $33,000 in net worth so far this year. Consequently, a large Primerica survey of middle income households reported that over half are negative right now about their finances – and fully one-third expect to be worse off in a year.

Because of the runaway inflation that germinated with the 2020 lockdowns and vaulted higher with Biden’s exorbitant borrowing and spending, real wages have crashed lower for workers. Specifically, incomes adjusted for inflation plunged lower for 24 months straight from 2021 into 2023, the worst streak on record.

In this stressed economic environment of widespread financial angst, the last thing America needs is a torrent of migrants, whether at our Southern border or via some globalist operation to airlift Palestinians to Main Street, USA.

So, reject leftist “America last” policies that destroy our national sovereignty, endanger our streets, and jeopardize our economy. In the case of Palestinians, insist that the wealthy regimes of the Mideast manage this issue.

Seems like all the “refugees” money hungry NGO’s like the Catholic Charities are of faiths other than Christian. Seems to me like there are plenty of Christians in hostile nations that would like to relocate here. I swear there are areas in Davidson and surrounding counties where I feel like I am in a foreign land. What happened to the concept of assimilation? Now all we get is enclaves of people wanting to live the good life here while being anything but Americans. This tells me that America is letting too many foreigners in.

They are already here by the plane load.
