Los Angeles Dodgers Apologize and Reinvite Drag ‘Nuns’ Group as ‘Pride Night’ Honoree

The Los Angeles Dodgers apologized to and reinvited the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a radical anti-Catholic group that defiles the Catholic faith, to be honored at the team’s game night “pride” event.

The move by the Dodgers’ organization to reinvite the blasphemous group of self-described “queer and trans nuns” comes following backlash from radical LGBTQ activists and their political allies.

“After much thoughtful feedback from our diverse communities, honest conversations within the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and generous discussions with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the Los Angeles Dodgers would like to offer our sincerest apologies to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, members of the LGBTQ+ community and their friends and families,” the Dodgers’ statement read.

“We have asked the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to take their place on the field at our 10th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night on June 16,” the statement continued. “We are pleased to share that they have agreed to receive the gratitude of our collective communities for the lifesaving work that they have done tirelessly for decades.”

As ABC7 News reported Sunday, Anaheim Mayor Ashleigh Aitken (D) invited the anti-Catholic group to join her for the Angels’ pride event on June 7 after its members were disinvited by the Dodgers.

“Pride should be inclusive and like many, I was disappointed in the Dodgers decision,” Aitken tweeted.

Yes, Every Kid

The Dodgers pulled its invitation last week following the protests of many Catholic leaders and organizations that wrote to the team, exposing the drag group’s activities that ridicule and desecrate their faith.

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, who prepared a report on the decades-long history of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, wrote about some of their exhibitions – called “lifesaving work” by the Dodgers –  in his column last week:

These homosexual bigots are known for simulating sodomy while dressed as nuns. They like to feature a “Condom Savior Mass,” one that describes how the “Latex Host is the flesh for the life of the world.” The “Sisters” go by names such as “Sister Homo Fellatio” and “Sister Joyous Reserectum.” Just last month, they held an event mocking Our Blessed Mother and Jesus on Easter Sunday.

Similarly, CatholicVote President Brian Burch detailed:

They dress in sexualized perversions of religious garb, taunting the women religious who serve the poor in Southern California and throughout the world. In one infamous stunt, they tricked an archbishop into giving them the Eucharist – the most important sacrament of the Catholic faith – so they could defile it. This past Easter Sunday, [they] put on an exhibition in San Francisco in which a performer dressed as Jesus carried a cross up a hill and then performed a pole dance on it.

“The Dodgers have now officially endorsed anti-Catholic bigotry,” wrote Donohue Tuesday. “Catholics don’t need any lectures from Stan Kasten, the president and CEO of the Dodgers, on the need to be ‘inclusive.’ The man is a phony—he has no problem excluding Catholics from his selective world of inclusivity.”

Donohue added in his column that while the “sisters” met Monday with Kasten, LGBTQ groups, and “local government officials,” there was “no indication that Catholic leaders, clergy or lay, were invited to participate in these ‘honest conversations.’”

CatholicVote responded to the Dodgers’ cave:

Author and reporter Megan Basham posted further about what the Dodgers refer to as the “lifesaving work” performed by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence:

According to a report at Golden State Today, Melissa Wilcox, author of Queer Nuns, which also provides a profile of the trans group, noted its members used “yogurt-filled chalices offered at a funeral to represent the intake of semen” and a “Condom Savior Mass” where “participants vow to use protection.”

“The decision to openly embrace a group whose demeaning behavior is anti-Catholic and anti-Christian is misguided and disrespectful to the sisters of the Catholic Church who minister in Orange County and selflessly dedicate their lives to God’s underserved people,” stated the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, California, in response to the Dodgers’ cave to the radical left.

“We cannot condone any actions that have historically shown such high levels of disregard for the sincerely held beliefs of the faithful,” the diocese added.

“The fact that gay and trans leaders agree with the vulgar anti-Catholic rhetoric and behavior of the ‘Sisters’ means they now have no moral leg to stand on when asking for an end to bigotry against them,” Donohue said.

“Our next step is to persuade Catholics in the Los Angeles area not to attend Pride Night on June 16,” the Catholic leader asserted. “By boycotting this event, we can send a message to the Dodgers, and to Major League Baseball, that anti-Catholic bigotry is unacceptable.”
