The Tennessee Professional Firefighters Association (TNPFFA) endorsed State Senator Mark Pody (R-Lebanon) in his reelection campaign for District 17.
TNPFFA, which represents career firefighters and emergency personnel across the state, announced its endorsement through its political activities committee, expressing confidence in Pody’s leadership and support for Tennessee’s fire service professionals.
“I am grateful for the endorsement of the Tennessee Professional Firefighters Association,” Pody said in a statement. “Our firefighters sacrifice so much to keep Tennessee families safe, and it is an honor to have their support. I will continue working to ensure they have the resources and support they deserve.”
Pody added that he is “honored to have earned the confidence of the Tennessee Professional Firefighters Association and remains committed to supporting the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our communities every day.”
The endorsement adds to a growing list of support for Pody’s reelection campaign.
Earlier this month, the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry endorsed his campaign, citing his commitment to policies that promote job creation, economic growth, and investment across the state. He also recently received the endorsement of Americans for Prosperity State PAC, which highlighted his support for lower taxes, constitutionally limited government, educational opportunity, and individual freedom.
Pody, who was first elected to the Tennessee Senate in 2017, is seeking another term representing District 17, which includes portions of Davidson and Wilson counties. He faces challenger Butch Baker in the August 6 Republican primary.
Early voting for the August 6 primary is scheduled to begin July 17. The last day to request an absentee ballot is July 27.
