Dr. Omar Hamada discussed the promise of Bioscope.AI during an exclusive interview Friday with The Tennessee Star’s CEO and Editor-in-Chief Michael Patrick Leahy, explaining how the platform aims to shift medicine from a reactive model to a predictive one by identifying an individual’s health risks before serious disease develops.
Bioscope.AI is a healthcare technology company founded by physician and entrepreneur Don Brown, MD.
Hamada, who serves as a physician advisor to the company’s board, said Bioscope.AI combines artificial intelligence with genetics, microbiome data, medical records, and lifestyle information to provide users with personalized insights into their future health.
“Bioscope AI is a very powerful AI that we’re building,” Hamada (pictured above) said on The Michael Patrick Leahy Show. “Basically everything goes into it, all of your medical records, all of your genetics, we do genetic testing, all of your biomics, we look at all the bacteria in your system—that goes into it. Everything: your habits, your sleep, your exercise.”
The information is then analyzed to help users understand potential health threats before they become reality.
“Basically it goes into an AI system and it’s a predictive analysis of what you’re at risk for getting and dying from unless you change your behavior,” Hamada explained.
Hamada said the process begins with a simple cheek swab used to collect genetic material for analysis.
When asked about the cost of the service, Hamada noted that “right now, to do the full genetic analysis is $1,000, which is very cheap” considering that the process involves sequencing an individual’s entire genome.
Hamada also emphasized that the company is committed to protecting users’ sensitive health information. When Leahy asked if the platform is secure and private, Hamada responded that it is “secure and private.”
According to Hamada, Bioscope.AI is designed to provide users with a comprehensive picture of their long-term health risks and empower them to make informed decisions before serious health conditions develop.
