The McMinn County Economic Development Authority is hosting the 2022 McMinn Regional Job Fair at Athens Regional Park on July 21. The job fair will be held from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (EST) and will host over 20 regional employers with current job openings ready to hire.

Including the McMinn County Economic Development Authority, the hiring event is sponsored by Your Skills. Your Future., McMinn, American Job Center, Southeast TN Development District, City of Athens, Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, Etowah Area Chamber of Commerce, Tennessee College of Applied Technology, Cleveland State Community College, Tennessee Wesleyan University, and 104.9 The Mountain.
The job fair event is funded under and in agreement with the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
According to data compiled by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD), McMinn County had an unemployment rate of 3.8% for the month of May, which is slightly higher than the state’s average overall rate. The Tennessee Star previously reported that data from TDLWD indicated Tennessee’s overall unemployment rate for May 2022 was 3.3% – up just 0.1 of a percentage point from March and April’s record-breaking rate of 3.2%.
