Joe Biden attempted to undermine the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision two weeks ago in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization by signing an executive order Friday that seeks to impose abortion on demand on the nation.
This Court has made it clear it will not protect the rights of women.
I will. That’s why today I'm signing an Executive Order to protect access to reproductive health care.

Pressed by radical pro-abortion leftists still reeling after the Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the White House has produced a “fact sheet” about the executive order it claims will “protect access to reproductive health care services” until Congress enshrines the tenets of Roe into federal law.
The “fact sheet” states Biden has directed the secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to act, first, by protecting access to drug-induced abortions to allow more women and girls to perform their own abortions.
HHS, the “fact sheet” says, has already taken steps “to ensure that medication abortion is as widely accessible as possible,” based on the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of the drugs.
However, Dr. James Studnicki, Sc.D., M.P.H., vice president of data analytics at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, said in comments to The Star News Network the abortion pill regimen’s “safety” is “great exaggerated”:
More than a decade of Medicaid data reveals that the rate of abortion pill-related emergency room visits has increased more than 500 percent, while peer-reviewed data from Finland, Sweden, and Secretary Becerra’s home state of California show that the abortion pill has a much higher complication rate than surgical abortion. The FDA is able to say the abortion pill is safe because they stopped requiring medical providers to report most complications back in 2016. If you’re choosing not to look for scientific evidence, you’ll never find any.
“The increasing dominance of chemical abortion and its disproportionate contribution to emergency room morbidity is a serious public health threat,” Studnicki asserted, “and today’s Executive Order does nothing to address or mitigate the very real dangers to women, which are proven by real-world data.”
The pro-life Students for Life Action (SFLAction) said in a statement that, despite his executive order, Biden “can’t change his failing narrative with more abortion.”
Watching for President Biden's Executive Order on Abortion today like… 😡👀🙄
What to expect:
– Undermine states rights to protect the vulnerable
– Push dangerous Abortion Pills on women
– Ignore the majority who want to vote on abortion— Students for Life Action (@SFLAction) July 8, 2022
SFLAction President Kristan Hawkins thanked Biden for his timing in working to “actively undermine states’ rights.”
“President Biden is making it so much easier to explain why Americans need to vote Pro-Life First at every level to protect the lives of the most vulnerable in our nation,” she commented. “This overreach into states where the people have spoken through their representatives in favor of protecting new life perfectly illustrates how elections impact policy from the ground up.”
The “fact sheet” also fear-mongers by implying the Court’s decision in Dobbs has somehow blocked “pregnant women and those experiencing pregnancy loss” from receiving “the full rights and protections for emergency medical care afforded under the law.”
Following the Court’s decision in Dobbs, OB/GYN Christina Francis, M.D., an associate scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, responded to the “misinformation” and fear-mongering by radical pro-abortion politicians and lobbyists:
My heart is breaking that women are being made to feel fearful by the misinformation that’s out there. Treating ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages or other life-threatening conditions in pregnancy is not the same thing as an abortion. Chemical abortions, which are being heavily promoted by the abortion industry and its allies, cannot treat an ectopic pregnancy according to the FDA. The treatments for ectopic pregnancy are not the same procedures used by induced abortions, which even Planned Parenthood admits. As a pro-life OB/GYN who’s practiced my entire career in hospitals that do not allow abortions, I have never been prevented from safely treating an ectopic pregnancy.
“In the rare but tragic situations where a pregnancy puts the mother’s life at risk, there are medical procedures for compassionately separating the mother and her baby and working to save both lives,” Francis added. “The only intent of an abortion is to produce a dead baby. Women deserve to be empowered by medically-accurate information.”
The White House also says Biden’s executive order will “protect access to contraception.”
“No one is going after contraception, which is Planned Parenthood’s favorite fake news,” Hawkins said. “There is a big difference between things designed to prevent fertilization (contraception) and those designed to kill (abortifacients). The designed intent makes a difference, but then again, we in the pro-life movement understand the science of biology, something that a lot of pro-abortion radicals seem to skip over.”
Planned Parenthood, which profits from abortions, referred to the return of abortion decisions to the states as a “national health care crisis.”
We’re in a national health care crisis and need officials at every level of government to do everything within their authority to fight for access to abortion. This executive order is an important step.
We can and must do more to address this crisis. https://t.co/FQ6iPdvKNO

The White House’s “fact sheet” also states HHS will launch “public education efforts” to “ensure Americans have access to reliable and accurate information about their rights and access to care.”
The U.S. attorney general and White House counsel, the “fact sheet” continues, will “convene private pro-bono attorneys, bar associations, and public interest organizations” to assist women seeking abortions throughout the country.
The White House says it also plans to protect the privacy of women seeking abortions, abortion providers, and abortion clinics. An “interagency task force” will be responsible “for coordinating Federal interagency policymaking and program development.”
“Long gone is the Democratic Party of ‘safe, legal, and rare,’” said Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a statement. “President Biden has once again caved to the extreme abortion lobby, determined to put the full weight of the federal government behind promoting abortion.”
“Democrats will stop at nothing to promote their agenda of abortion on demand, up until the moment of birth, paid for by the taxpayers – including dangerous mail-order abortion drugs — even if it means gutting the long-standing filibuster, increasing the size of the Supreme Court, or putting abortionists in tents in national parks,” she added.
“We now know that pro-abortion politicians like President Biden and his team don’t care if abortion is ‘legal’ or not,” Hawkins also added, “as they are willing to violate state laws to suit their favorite lobbyists from Planned Parenthood and company.”
