Bill Hagerty Announces U.S. Senate Staff Promotions and New Hires

U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty announced several staff changes and promotions for his official Senate office on Tuesday.

Among the several new hires and promotions were changes made to Hagerty’s press office staff. Two staffers were promoted and one new aide was hired.

“I’m pleased to welcome several new individuals to my staff, as well as announce promotions for others,” the senator said in a statement obtained by The Tennessee Star. “I’m confident that these talented and accomplished men and women, together with the rest of my staff, will continue to help me best serve and represent Tennesseans from across the Volunteer State on Capitol Hill.”

Julia Hahn, according to the statement, who has served as senior communications advisor since January of 2021, will now be Hagerty’s deputy chief of staff for communications. Hahn previously served as deputy assistant to the president and deputy White House communications director. She also was a special assistant to the president and director of rapid response and surrogate operations. Prior to her work at the White House, Hahn worked in media as the executive producer of the Laura Ingraham Show and a reporter at Breitbart News. She previously worked on Capitol Hill as press secretary to former Congressman Dave Brat (VA-07). Hahn achieved a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Chicago.

Audrey Traynorwho was serving as Hagerty’s deputy press secretary and digital director, has been promoted to press secretary. Traynor recently served as communications assistant for former U.S. Senator David Perdue’s (R-GA) 2020 re-election campaign. Prior to joining the Perdue campaign, Traynor worked in communications for the Georgia Department of Labor. She received a B.A. in advertising from the University of Georgia.

A new hire to Senator Hagerty’s press staff is Brandon Jackson, who is now a press and digital assistant for the senator. Jackson is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, who previously served as an intern in both Hagerty’s Washington, D.C., office in 2021 and for his 2020 U.S. Senate campaign. He is a native of Franklin, Tennessee.

Hagerty additionally promoted several legislative correspondents to the position of legislative aide and hired one staff assistant, a legislative assistant, and an additional legislative correspondent.

First elected to the U.S. Senate in 2020, Hagerty has served as the junior senator from Tennessee since taking office in January of 2021. Prior to his service in the U.S. Senate, Hagerty served as U.S. Ambassador to Japan under former President Donald Trump.
