Bredesen Supporter Michael Bloomberg Called for Targeted Denial of Minorities’ Second Amendment Rights

Last week Tennessee Democratic Party Senate Candidate Phil Bredesen attended a fundraiser in New York City at the home of former New York City Mayor and potential 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg.  Despite his claims that he supports the Second Amendment, Bredesen has received a D rating from the NRA (which endorsed Republican Marsha Blackburn in the race) and has now tied himself to Bloomberg and his anti-gun agenda.

Bloomberg recently expressed a desire to deny minority citizens their Constitutional rights when he called for banning gun ownership for minorities at a 2015 meeting at the Aspen Institute.  Bloomberg noted that 95% of murders fall into a specific category: male, minority and between the ages of 15 and 25. Cities need to get guns out of this group’s hands and keep them alive, he told the Aspen Institute.

“These kids think they’re going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed,” Bloomberg said. “They just don’t have any long-term focus or anything. It’s a joke to have a gun. It’s a joke to pull a trigger.”

After recognizing the racially charged nature of his own comments, Bloomberg tried to block audio or video of his speech to the Aspen Institute from being made public.  However, video and audio of Bloomberg’s racist approach to the Constitutional rights of minorities soon leaked.

Tennessee Star Political Editor Steve Gill notes that as the Bredesen campaign is reeling from the Project Veritas video disclosing that his own staffers don’t believe his claim that he would have supported Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation, his links to Bloomberg couldn’t come at a worse time.  (Those staffers continue to be employed with funds supplied to the Tennessee Democratic Party by the Chuck Schumer Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.)

“Bredesen’s liberal Democratic Party supporters, such as New York Senator Chuck Schumer and New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg are not backing Bredesen because he will be the ‘moderate centrist looking to work with Donald Trump that he pretends to be,” Gill said. “They know the real Bredesen and his fancy New York City fundraiser with an anti-gun racist like Bloomberg certainly doesn’t reflect the ‘Tennessee values’ Bredesen is promising to take to Washington. They want a third Senator from New York, and that’s what they will get if Bredesen is elected.”

The Tennessee Star has asked the Bredesen Campaign whether they plan to return the funds raised at Bloomberg’s New York City mansion last week but has not yet received a response.

As a former Tennessean, we know that anyone in bed with Bloomberg is pure sleaze. He wants to take guns away from citizens so that he can control the people better.
