Congressman Mark Green Travels to Ukraine Amid Rising Tensions with Russia

U.S. Representative Mark Green (R-TN-07) joined a bipartisan delegation to travel to parts of Europe and Ukraine amid the country’s growing tensions with Russia.

The group, led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Gregory Meeks (D-NY-05), will “meet with senior Ukrainian officials to discuss the security situation and reinforce U.S. support for Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Furthermore, in Brussels, the delegation detailed it will “discuss the security situation in Eastern Europe and the buildup of Russian troops along Ukraine’s border and in Belarus” with NATO officials.

The Tennessee legislator has remained critical of President Joe Biden’s handling of the situation. In a press conference, Biden implied that a “minor incursion” by Russia would not necessarily inspire a response to the action. The comment was rebuked by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the White House attempted to walk back Biden’s remark.

“Any infraction on Ukraine’s sovereignty is unacceptable. We can’t allow a hegemon in Europe to grow and tip the balance of power there. We aren’t going to let that happen. I think what he said, obviously, they had to reel it back and did so today. The people that have been briefing us all over the Hill are contradicting the President,” the congressman said in a radio interview with SuperTalk 99.7 WTN.

Green has remained active on the foreign-policy front. Last year, the lawmaker introduced a bill to sanction Russia for invading the Donbas Region of Ukraine.

“The U.S. should not tolerate, ignore, or forget Russia’s aggressive action in Ukraine. As long as Russia is illegally occupying territory in Ukraine’s Donbas region, the United States must exert as much pressure as possible,” he said at the time.

“The United States cannot tolerate Russia’s continued attempts to destabilize Ukraine by funding separatist groups, committing cyber-attacks, and using its military to intimidate the rightful, democratically-elected government of Ukraine.”

If Mark Green wants to risk his own live in the Ukraine, that’s his business, but don’t drag any of our young Americans into to it just so he can make a profit from it!

  3. Congressman Green, now fight for sovereignty of our nation…..remember the southern border. We’re being invaded on our southern border. Who cares about Ukraine. Don’t be a RINO.

I agree with you Jeanine! Congressman Green what about the southern Border? Why are you trying to support Biden with another endless war? Please vote this RINO out of congress!

Congress Mark Green is a real RINO! He tried to tell TN legislature how to draw up the new congressional districts to protect Nancy Pelosi loving Liberal Jim Cooper! pLease primary Mark Green and put a real Tennessee conservative in the 7th congressional district! Green and Weak Marsha Blackburn and Dizzy Bill Hagerty are out of step with working Tennesseans and have aligned their priorities with RINO Mitch McConnell!

You didn’t get elected to go virtue signal for a war that most of us have no intention of supporting. We know the Resident’s son, Pelosi’s son, Kerry’s stepson, and Romney’s son are all involved in energy companies over there. Are you helping the Big Guy get his 10% and cover it up with a wag the dog war? America is not for this and we will remember who is who come election season!
