Crom Carmichael Explains the Media’s Exaggeration of Coronavirus Deaths and it’s Relation to Mail-Out Voting

Live from Music Row Monday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. –  host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio.

At the end of the second hour, Carmichael weighed in on Chuck Todd’s recent claims that the coronavirus deaths may exceed WWI, WWII, and Vietnam. He compared the virus deaths to those of people who had drowned worldwide and by the Spanish Flu citing a clear coordinated effort of over-exaggeration by the media to push a ‘mail-out’ voting scenario.

(Chuck Todd clip plays)

It’s easy, even dangerous to become numb to the scope of the coronavirus tragedy that’s all around us. Yesterday the US hit a total of five million cases. That is two million more than Brazil which is second in the world to cases. We’ve also passed 160,000 deaths. We are at 163,828 as of this morning. And the University of Washington’s model projects the toll could roughly double to 300,000 by the first of December.

But let’s put that 160,000 figure into a little bit of perspective. That’s about 40 percent more than the total number of Americans killed in WWI. It is nearly triple the number of Americans killed from Vietnam. And if that University of Washington figure is correct, by December, we would have passed the number of US battle deaths from WWII all in less than one calendar year.

Leahy: Virtual signaling Chuck Todd on Meet the Press yesterday. Crom do you have any reaction to those comparisons?

Carmichael: (Laughs) In another segment about the coronavirus he also said this was the worst pandemic in 100 years. And that’s true. That part is true because the pandemics that we’ve had in the last 100 years had been pretty darn small. But the Spanish Flu which is the one he is referring to of over a little 100 years ago.

In order to help Chuck have a little perspective let me provide the following: One-third of the world’s population was infected by the Spanish Flu. 50 million people died worldwide from the Spanish Flu. Now that’s when the population was only a fraction of what it is today. 60 million people in the world died today, 60 million die every year. 60 million.

Yes, Every Kid

And Chuck Todd is saying there are 675,000 deaths from coronavirus and somehow it is terrible. In the US three million people die every year. And in fact, when Obama and Biden were President and Vice President 25 million Americans died.

Carmichael: What did they do about it?

Carmichael: They didn’t do anything.

Leahy: They didn’t do anything about those 25 million deaths Crom.

Carmichael: Yes. And I’m surprised that Chuck Todd did not point out that during Trump’s first two years 6 million people died because 3 million people die in the US every year coronavirus or not. And so what Chuck Todd is doing, he’s setting up the old strawman.

He sets up something as if it is a big deal. In order to help Chuck understand what actually happened in WWII, battle deaths for Americans in WWII were relatively small compared to the rest of the world. And in fact, the US did not have any civilian casualties in the US itself unless you had some spy running around killing a few people. But in the world, 80 million people died in WWII. 80 million.

Leahy: A lot of civilians.

Carmichael: 47 million were civilians. Now in order to try to give Chuck some perspective here, 320,000 die every year in the world from drowning. And that’s very consistent. So in the course of three years a million people in the world die from drowning. That is more than will die from the coronavirus.

Leahy: What has Donald Trump done about that?

Carmichael: What has the world done? (Leahy laughs) What has the World Health Organization done? Have they eliminated swimming pools? Have they closed the beaches? Well, there are some Democrat governors that have closed the beaches.

Leahy: But not because of drownings.

Carmichael: No. Not because of drownings. (Leahy chuckles) That’s exactly right. Should we say that people cannot get in the water? Worldwide every year 800,000 people die of suicide. 800,000. What is the World Health Organization doing about that? What is Chuck Todd doing about that? By the way, during the coronavirus lockdown, domestic abuse went up dramatically. The calls to suicide hotlines exploded during the coronavirus lockdown.

Leahy: I think suicides are up aren’t they?

Carmichael: Oh yes. They are. They are. Murders in cities are going through the roof. You can ascribe that the coronavirus. You can ascribe it do to the defunding the police. You can attach a lot of different reasons for that.

Leahy: Violent crimes are going up.

Carmichael: So we have to ask ourselves, Chuck Todd is not a stupid person. He is a political hack. There is no question about that. And so the question is why is Chuck Todd and why are all the other people in the media making such a big deal of coronavirus? And the answer has nothing to do with the illness. It has everything to do with trying to put pressure on state legislators to do mail-out voting.

Leahy: Mail-out voting. Which is just going to be filled with fraud.

Carmichael: Filled with fraud. And it’s the only way that the Democrats can win the election. And let’s be clear about something. When a state does mail out voting and engages in fraud and somebody says California. Well, Trump isn’t going to win California anyway.

That part is true. But there are House seats in California that are highly contested. And the fraud for mail-out voting in those districts could very well determine that Democrats fraudulently wins and Nancy Pelosi retains the speakership.

Leahy: By the way, there are 53 House seats in California. One is vacant right now. Republicans only hold six of those seats. And 40 some odd are held by Democrats. And before the mid-terms, it was like 14 were Republicans. They take those eight back and guess what? We’re likely to have a Republican House.

Carmichael: Right. And that’s why the Democrats are trying so hard to cheat. They have become truly the Machiavellian party. The ends justify the means. So they are trying to get the mail out voting in Michigan. Whitmer sent out requests for absentee ballots to all the voters.

So this whole thing of COVID and all these other things are all now about trying to get the mail-out voting so that you can have a fraudulent election. And if Trump were to win re-election it would be a way for the Democrats to claim he’s illegitimate.

Leahy: They are going to claim that anyway.

Carmichael: They are going to claim that anyway.
