Live from Music Row Wednesday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for another edition of Crom’s Commentary where he discusses the consequences of President Joe Biden’s flawed worldview.
Leahy: Well, you waited for you want it. Here it is ladies and gentlemen. Here is today’s Crom’s Commentary.
Carmichael: Michael, as I watched the news, we’ve discussed how most big movements take time to build. And when I say build, I don’t mean necessarily build in a good way. I’m talking about even in a bad way and especially probably even more than bad.
Public policy generally takes time to build. But the combination of COVID and Biden’s own policies have taken what normally takes a long period of time to build and compress them into very small time intervals.
Let’s just review where Biden stands right now and where the economy is. You have inflation now that’s approaching 10 percent. And for a lot of goods that people buy every day, they’re over 20 percent or 30 percent.
And to listen to Biden’s people trying to claim that inflation is a good thing, I don’t think that will sell. There are going to be energy shortages here in the United States.
And when we get into the cold time of the year, when we get into winter, there are going to be a lot of places where heating oil and the cost of heating will be double what it was a year ago.
And then you have the supply chain, which now will include food. It will include a lot of staple goods. The shelves at the grocery store aren’t going to be completely bare, but in many of the areas, they’ll run out of supplies and a lot of the shelves, and a lot of the parts that go into equipment like refrigerators and cars and things like this.
This is where the supply chain is affecting other elements of the economy. But now Biden’s $3.5 trillion so-called Build Back Better program looks to me like it’s in tremendous trouble in the House and the Senate.
And we can all be very thankful for that. And we should hope that the whole thing collapses because that would actually be good for the economy. And in an odd way, it would be good for Biden if he could figure out a way to spin it.
The problem is that he’s built his entire legacy on that $3.5 trillion program. And then you have immigration. Haiti is about to be a failed state. Two-thirds of Haiti is now controlled by criminals.
This is where Kamala Harris says that her solution on immigration is going to be to understand the root causes and fix the root causes.
I’ve not seen Kamala Harris say I’m going to go to Haiti to try to understand what’s going on in Haiti. It’s not difficult, by the way.
You don’t even have to go there to understand that criminals have taken over the nation of Haiti and Venezuela. We haven’t even gotten a foreign policy here. But everything Biden is doing is going the wrong way because his fundamental worldview is flawed.
Leahy: And that’s Crumb’s commentary for today all of the expedited heightened authoritarianism converging quickly in time under the Biden administration. I agree with you completely and entirely in that analysis, Crom.
