Crom’s Commentary on Joe Biden’s Governmental Power Grab and American’s Unwilling to Bend the Knee

Live from Music Row Monday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for Crom’s Commentary in which he discusses Biden’s governmental approach to COVID.

Leahy: We are joined in studio by our very good friend, the original star panelist Crom Carmichael. How are you this morning?

Carmichael: Fine Michael. How are you?

Leahy: I had sort of a rough weekend. I flew out. I think I may have told you this. My best friend from childhood passed away, you told me. And so you know, I just flew up on Southwest Airlines.

Carmichael: And you got there.

Leahy: I got there and I got back. But I had to go through Baltimore, Washington, up to Albany, and it’s just rough.

Carmichael: Yeah.

Leahy: It’s rough. But the service was wonderful. It was that the second oldest Catholic Church in the state of New York. St. Mary’s. It’s right on Capitol Hill up there in Albany and was beautifully redone in 1870. It’s a beautiful church.

Carmichael: It was beautifully redone in 1870? So it’s been 150 years since it’s been redone.

Leahy: (Chuckles) They’ve maintained it.

Carmichael: I’m saying that’s spectacular that they redid it 150 years ago and it’s still exquisite. That’s really cool. It really is.

Leahy: It was a great place. There were about 100 people there. My friend’s name was Ron Kennedy had been successful. It turns out we sort of went a little different politically. He was a lobbyist for the New York State Bar Association, but very successful.

But it was about that event and then coming back and family and everything. So I get back here and I land Sunday morning and boom! The whole Southwest thing. I’m supposed to go up to Washington after the show on Tuesday on Southwest.

I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I’m glad to be back in Nashville. And now, Crom, as we want to do, we have a new feature here called Crom’s Commentary. Let’s have you lead off.

Carmichael: Michael, the commentary is really a follow-on to what you’re just talking about. And that is let’s look at the Biden administration. As I have said I define him as the ultimate grifter and the ultimate grifter can’t make a good decision.

It’s not possible that they make a good decision because a grifter sees the world in a zero-sum game. And if it doesn’t benefit him, his family, or the Democrat Party at the expense of others, then he won’t make the decision.

It’s not a good one. And if you’ll recall maybe six months ago there were logistics problems around the world. He said he was going to appoint somebody as the czar of global logistics.

This is about as silly as position as anybody could possibly have because they’re literally billions of decisions being made every day that affect logistics all the way from what consumers buy at various retail stores that go into their systems that then affect the supply chain and so on and so forth.

A czar wouldn’t have access to and literally could not possibly have access to. And so now we see ports. We see ships piling up at all American ports, where even the logistics people in the private sector are struggling.

And much of it is due to policies of the Biden administration that are affecting logistics as much as it is affecting other things. And so let’s look at his whole government approach when it comes to COVID.

What he’s saying is is that everybody must be vaccinated. And so the question is, what is the purpose of requiring everybody to be vaccinated? It can’t be based on health, because the data does not show that that’s necessary.

Israel has studies that show that people who have contracted COVID and recovered, which is almost everybody. Literally, almost everybody who contracts COVID recovers that they have immunity that is anywhere from 13 to 27 times greater than what the vaccine provides.

Yet he doesn’t give an exemption for that. We see Sweden, and we see Denmark, which has stopped allowing anybody under 30 to take the Moderna vaccine because the vaccine is showing that especially for men under 30, it can cause heart problems and lead to death.

But yet Biden continues to plow ahead. And what he’s doing is he’s now doubling down. You have Trevon Green. You have Mike Tyson. You have other black athletes who are coming out and saying that requiring them to do a mandate is unamerican.

That doesn’t seem to bother Biden at all. And then I saw a report over the weekend where the Amish community in Pennsylvania, which did not do the vaccine. It doesn’t really deal with the government at all.

It doesn’t send any of their children to government-run schools. They are now essentially over the issues of COVID because they have reached herd immunity. And by the way, they only stayed locked down for about six weeks.

They then proceeded to open up and go about their business the way that they always had. They went to church, they went to social gatherings. They even passed that cup around at the church where people drink out of the same cup.

Yes, people got COVID and people recovered. And so they’ve moved on. And the statistics among that community is no worse. And perhaps they haven’t done a deep dive, but certainly no worse than the population as a whole.

And so you look at what Biden is doing and you say what on earth could be the reason behind it. And it’s just simply a power play. It is just simply been the knee.

And I don’t think Americans are yet at the point where they want to bend the knee. And I think that that will show up in the midterms.

Leahy: A very good point Crom. Thanks for that commentary. We’re going to have to get some little introductory music for you.

Carmichael: Not the potpourri music though.

Leahy: No, no, no, no. And we were still working on the name a little bit. Crom’s Commentary We could go with something a little bit more illiterate. Crom’s Critique. Critique.

Carmichael: We’ll figure it out. But we’ll get some music. We may get some input from our listeners.

Leahy: We may get some input from our listeners and call into our Bless Your Heartline.

Carmichael: Bless Their Heart Line. Bless Crom’s Heart Line.
