Live from Music Row Friday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. –  host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael in studio for another edition of Crom’s Commentary.
Leahy: We have a treat for our listening audience. We have a name for today’s Crommentary. You like that?
Carmichael: I like that.
Leahy: And we’re going to have a little fun music. It won’t exactly be News Potpurri schmalzy. But there will be distinctive music to go along with today’s commentary.
Carmichael: Da, da, da-da. (Laughter)
Leahy: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for today’s commentary by Crom Carmichael.
Carmichael: Thank you, Michael. There are three headlines in The Wall Street Journal here that just are fascinating to me. The one is by Daniel Henninger, who’s generally quite an interesting writer.
His is called The Incredible Shrinking Biden. Then this morning I get up and I see two headlines The Summer of Stagflation. And then Some Employees Are Willing to Leave Jobs over Vaccine Mandates Surveys Show.
And I’m going to start with the last one first. What we’re seeing is the policeman during the spikes in crime are leaving their jobs. Firemen are leaving their jobs. Teachers are leaving their jobs, and health care workers are leaving their jobs.
Michael, didn’t Democrats call these first responders, the heroes of our country when COVID was actually going before there was a vaccine?
And now they’re calling these people all kinds of terrible names. And I just don’t think that that’s going to carry forward all these terrible names and all these mandates and forced programs.
I just don’t think those are going to carry forward. In fact, I know they’re not going to carry forward in terms of popularity. Summer of stagflation. The third-quarter numbers came out, two percent growth in the third quarter.
Inflation is raging in the third quarter in somewhere around eight percent. So we’re going back right now at the rate of six percent. Here’s the thing that the reason that the third title is so important.
The Incredible Shrinking Biden. Let me say about the way that I like to process information and draw conclusions. I try to process information and then I take the information as I understand it and I draw a conclusion.
If I get new information, that may cause me to change my conclusion, in the case of Biden, he’s getting all kinds of new information, that his policies are terrible. He’s not doing anything except doubling down and passing even more ridiculous policies.
And so I have decided that the best way to describe Biden and this might even be kind, is he’s a corrupt clown surrounded by idiots who are selected and there because of their appearance and their duty to expand government at all costs. And there’s just not a good way for me to think of and encapsulate in one description.
