First Lady Jill Biden will head to Nashville Tuesday to inspire more COVID-19 vaccinations – part of a campaign organized by top Obama-era officials. Biden will be joined by country music star Brad Paisley at a pop-up vaccination site from 5 to 7 p.m. CST.
Biden’s trip is part of a nationwide bus tour to encourage vaccinations, the National Vaccine Month of Action. The bus tour was organized by Made to Save, an initiative that blames systemic racism for why less people of color are getting vaccinated than white individuals. The initiative is the work of Civic Nation: a nonprofit organization focused on social justice activism, comprised mainly of top-tier Obama Administration figures. Civic Nation’s board are all key leaders from the Obama Administration, and many of the nonprofit’s staff are, too.

The founder and a board member of Civic Nation, Jason Waskey, worked as a state director for both of previous President Barack Obama’s presidential election campaigns. Obama considered board member Joe Paulsen as a close friend and aide “from day one.” Board member Pete Rouse served as the interim Chief of Staff and a counselor for Obama. Board treasurer Cecilia Munoz was an 8-year veteran on Obama’s team, serving as the Intergovernmental Affairs director and Domestic Policy Council director. Board chair Valerie Jarrett was also an 8-year veteran in the Obama Administration: a senior advisor, then an assistant for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement.
Board member Sam Brown served as Obama’s finance chief of staff during the previous president’s second run, and then the White House Business Council director. Finally, board member Tina Tchen served as both an assistant to Obama and chief of staff to then-First Lady Michelle Obama.
Additionally, Civic Nation CEO Kyle Lierman worked for Obama’s first campaign. Chief Program and Strategy Officer Shira Miller served various roles in the Obama Administration. Civic Nation’s Managing Director for Gender Equity and Executive Director of United State of Women, Jordan Brooks, worked as Obama’s Deputy Executive Director and policy advisor to the White House Council on Women and Girls. Managing Director of Communications and Culture Crystal Carson was the assistant to the Obama Administration communications director.
Jillian Doody, Partnerships and Government Relations managing director, served as President Biden’s director of correspondence when he was vice president. Data and Analytics Managing Director Mo Maraqa was also a data director for the 2008 Obama campaign. Stephanie Young, Senior Advisor, worked as an Obama-era senior public engagement advisor and associate communications director.
After her visit to Nashville, First Lady Biden will encourage vaccinations at a clinic in Jackson, Mississippi that same day, then head to Kissimmee and Tampa, Florida, on Thursday.

Suddenly Mrs. Biden shows up and everybody magically decides to get a COVID jab. Even some of the Dems have more sense than that. But others would have us believe that minorities don’t get jabs because white people exist.
