Giles County Sheriff’s Department Announces Benefit to Help Officer with Medical Expenses

 

The Giles County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD) announced last week that it will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and online silent auction benefit to help Lt. Shane Hunter with medical expenses. Lieutenant Shane Hunter was diagnosed with a large mass on his spine that will require surgery and treatment. All proceeds from the benefit will go to cover Hunter’s medical expenses.

GCSD shared information about the benefit on Facebook, writing, “Join us in helping out one of our brothers. Lt. Shane Hunter recently found out that he has a mass on his spine that will require surgery. We are putting together a spaghetti dinner and online auction. Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated. An account has been set up at The Bank of Frankewing: Shane Hunter Benefit. If you or your business would like to donate, give us a shout.”

The in-person benefit will be held on November 20th from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Ingram-Angus Barn at 2880 Happy Hill Road in Lynnville. A spaghetti meal will include a salad, roll, drink and dessert for a $10 donation. There will be to-go plates available as well.

According to the flyer for the benefit, an AR-15 will be one of the large items being auctioned off during the in-person event.

There will also be an online silent auction from November 1st to November 18th through a Facebook page set up by the GCSD. Online items will be available for pickup at the in-person benefit on November 20th.

For those unable to attend the in-person benefit or participate in the online silent auction, GCSD has set up an account for Lt. Hunter at The Bank of Frankewing in Pulaski for monetary donations.
