More than 1,000 parents who protested the Williamson County School (WCS) System’s new COVID-19 mask mandates attracted the attention of CNN Thursday and, later, U.S. President Joe Biden, and not in a flattering way.
An unidentified CNN anchor described the parents as “an angry minority.” The network showed footage of some, but not all, of the parents as they either attended this week’s meeting or, due to lack of space inside, protested outdoors.
“And after this Tennessee meeting we just showed you there, some of that minority became threatening and harassed people wearing masks as they left,” the CNN anchor said.
The anchor then showed video of two unidentified people getting in the face of, and apparently trying to intimidate, a person who urged WCS board members to mandate students wear COVID-19 masks.
After CNN’s report aired, Biden appeared on television to address what happened.
“This isn’t about politics. This is about keeping our children safe. I saw a video and reports from Tennessee of protestors threatening doctors and nurses who went before the school board to make the case that to keep kids safe there should be mandatory masks. As they walked out the doctors were threatened. Nurses were threatened,” Biden said.
“Health care workers are heroes. They were the heroes when there was no vaccine. Many of them gave their lives trying to save others. And they are heroes again with the vaccine. They are doing their best to care for the people refusing to get vaccinated. And unvaccinated folks are being hospitalized and dying as a result of not being vaccinated.”
WCS Board members voted to require that students, staff and visitors at elementary schools wear face masks while indoors and on buses until September 21. The decision displeased Williamson County parents who insist they — and only they — have the right to force a COVID-19 mask on their children.
One parent, whose name The Star could not determine, warned board members that he and others “will come for you in a non-violent way.”
“Candace Owens is coming for you. The Deplorables will come for you politically and financially,” the man said.
“We will vote you out. If you own a business we will boycott your business. In the past you dealt with sheep, and now you will deal with lions.”
Williamson County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Sharon Puckett told The Tennessee Star Thursday that deputies arrested no one at Tuesday’s school board meeting. Deputies also did not give out any citations.

For two years Americans have watch their country burned, looted, toppled, disrupted and occupied by individuals expressing progressive themes. All with the backing, glamorization, and promotion of the same media that is now apoplectic about the verbal harassment that occurred at the Williamson County School Board meeting.
Look at the difference in the way the Nashville media has covered the mask choice protesters versus the way they covered Justin Jones.
In addition, Kamala Harris has previously raised funds for bail for those arrested in progressive causes. Referencing them she has said, ”it shouldn’t stop.”
Maybe those outside the Williamson County Complex assumed there was a new normal.
Let’s all agree to support civility and the enforcement of the law at all public events.
But if the left and their backers in the media get their way, before arrests are considered the police will first ask what cause the disrupter is promoting.
The Tennessean’s headline today is that there are currently no ICU/ ER beds available in Middle Tennessee. How can this be when it didn’t happen last winter when the number of Covid cases and deaths were more than double what they are at present?
Would the Star or someone confirm which middle Tennessee hospitals have NO ER BEDS. I think readers would like to know this information in case they or someone in their family needs emergency care.
Perhaps the Tennessean could help with this information.
Biden needs to keep his Pinocchio Nose out of Tennessee Issues. If he is worry about Doctor, Nurse and other health care professionals then why is he flooding America with illegal Covid bearing individuals from Mexico at the southern border.
While I don’t support masking of Children, I do wonder how many of the Williamson School Board and school staff (teachers) have been vaccinated.
Seeing that the liberal media CNN was doing the reporting I am willing to bet that by the time Biden got wind of it the whole story was blown out of proportion . I am not saying that some weren’t upset but I don’t believe that it was as bad as CNN made it out to be.
Media outlets today are afraid to tell the truth because they are to worried about their rating and the fact that many reporters don’t want to make their political party look bad.
CNN is known to be the propaganda arm of the DNC and their ratings reflect that fact. As for joe…

We need more of the ” minority ” to STOP COMPLYING. I was refused medical care for an injury yesterday at an orthopedic clinic in Nashville where I had an appointment because I would not wear a face diaper- I walked out. It is much easier to just comply and get medical treatment, groceries, or send your kids to school with a mask, and that’s what too many people who really know better are still doing – because they do not feel strongly enough about it. The mask BS is just the beginning of the power trip for the Left – and YES -IT IS POLITICAL 100%. They get away with this because too many people let them- same thing with the school boards , and businesses.
