Certain faculty members at Kansas University say Chick-fil-A threatens inclusion.
Therefore, they want the restaurant removed — or excluded — from campus.
This, according to FOX News, which said members of the faculty council call the restaurant a ‘“bastion of bigotry’ after KU administrators relocated a Chick-fil-A from a basement to ‘prime real estate’ on campus to the Memorial Union.”
Members of the council reportedly have even bigger problems with the ‘Chick-fil-A Coin Toss’ at the start of the Jayhawks’ football home games, the network reported.
“The culture of Chick-fil-A fosters hate and discrimination on multiple levels,” FOX News quoted the Sexuality & Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council as writing in a two-page letter.
The network went on to quote group members “accusing university leaders of being ‘more concerned about money and corporate sponsorship than the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of marginalized and LGBTQ people.’”
Members of the College Republicans, meanwhile, started a petition to tell university administration that Chick-fil-A is welcome on campus, FOX News reported.
As The Tennessee Star reported last month, Chick-fil-A surpassed the fast-food chain In-N-Out Burger to become America’s favorite fast-food restaurant, according to a survey from Market Force.
Food & Wine published the annual survey results and revealed the fried chicken restaurant, which is open six days a week and closed Sundays, surpassed the popular Californian hamburger joint In-N-Out in customer satisfaction ratings.
In-N-Out previously held the highest customer satisfaction ratings for the past two years, according to CBS Los Angeles.
The survey polled 7,600 consumers and found Chick-fil-A had 79 percent customer satisfaction while In-N-Out had 73 percent customer satisfaction.
A smaller southern chain, Raising Cane’s, came in second for customer satisfaction at 78 percent.
Chick-fil-A was also named the most popular fast-food chain, for the fourth year in a row, in a 2018-2019 American Customer Satisfaction Index report published in June.
