U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) is bringing Wendy Corcoran, Pierce’s mother, as his guest.
Blackburn met with the Corcoran family in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 16, according to a tweet.
This afternoon, I met with the Corcorans, whose son and brother Pierce was tragically killed two weeks ago by an illegal alien. My prayers are with #AngelFamilies across this country. No family should ever have to experience such a tragedy. #JusticeForPierce pic.twitter.com/dP4e9RDkiq

Blackburn said in a statement, “The tragedy the Corcoran family has endured is one no family should ever have to experience. The attendance of Pierce’s parents at the State of the Union serves as a reminder that we as a Congress have a duty to keep the American people safe. It is an honor to attend with Captain Corcoran.”
Burchett said, “My wife gladly gave up her spot for the Corcorans, and I’m honored to have them in attendance at the State of the Union. I have been friends with their family for years, and I can’t imagine how difficult it was losing Pierce. Congress has to get to work on stronger laws and increased border security so tragedies like this might be prevented in the future.”
Francisco Eduardo Franco-Cambrany, was charged with killing Pierce Corcoran, 22, in the December head-on crash, The Tennessee Star said in a story Sunday.
The Star quoted KnoxNews.com in saying Franco-Cambrany could walk free from jail unless the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement takes him into custody. According to the website, a judge reinstated bond for Franco-Cambrany.
