Live from Music Row Tuesday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed Mayor Andy Ogles in studio to discuss the illegal migrant caravan heading toward the Texas border.
Leahy: That is Congresswoman Nicole Mallaitakis. She represents Staten Island. That’s the only Republican part of New York City. She was elected back in November, and she’s making a very good point.
Andy Ogles, mayor of Maury County. That bastion of freedom. That turbocharged engine of economic growth. Andy, I don’t know if you saw this, but there was a clip on Fox News I saw yesterday with literally thousands of illegal immigrants in Mexico.
Some from South America, some from Central America, some from the Middle East. They rolled over the police trying to stop them. They ran through the barricades. It is literally an invasion of the United States that’s coming right now.
Ogles: Yeah, of course, juxtapose that with a lot of wrongs with January 6th. But we’ve got this little invasion of our southern border. In the fiscal year 2021, there have been 1.7 million encounters at the border. I’ll say that again, 1.7 million this year.
That is a number. When you think about what that does to communities, school infrastructure, your health care infrastructure, the job market, we’re transforming this country. I can’t say that I blame these folks for wanting a better life, right?
I’m a father of three children. I walked through hell and fire to make a better life for my children. But this is incumbent on Congress and the failings of this administration. And quite frankly, previous administrations for not securing this border.
Leahy: The other thing about this is and I think we must be blunt, and we must be honest about the legal but not legitimate current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. There are immigration laws in this country.
Ogles: What? Really?
Leahy: There are. But it is the intended purpose of the Biden maladministration to violate those laws. This is, in my view, an impeachable offense. And yet there’s no movement towards impeachment. Why?
Because Democrats control the House and they are purely filled with partisan hackery. They are not committed to our constitutional republic. And so this is as plain as the nose on your face that the Biden maladministration is actively violating our immigration law. This is, in my view, an impeachable offense.
Ogles: Look at the 1.7 million in 2021. Let’s dial it down to September. 192,000 individuals ‘encountered’ at the border. Maury county is only 100,000 people. That’s twice the size of Maury County.
Leahy: Illegal aliens entering the United States illegally with a Biden maladministration doing nothing to enforce the law to stop that entry.
Ogles: And, August and July both saw 200,000 in each respective month. And so, again, if you’re from Franklin or Brentwood, Williamson County they are around 250,000 in population.
So you’ve had enough people in one given month to equal the size of Williamson County, one of the fastest-growing counties in the state, which is behind Maury County by the way. (Laughter) We’re the fastest.
Leahy: Got to get that in because it is a turbocharged engine of economic growth down there. It might have something to do with the leadership. I don’t know. (Laughter)
Huey: That’s awesome.
Leahy: I had to get that in.
Ogles: In my previous career, I worked in anti-human trafficking, to be clear, Ranch Wealth Countries. And what we saw at the border at that time, which was a trickle compared to what it is today is really the human crisis that takes place when you’re moving human cargo.
And that’s what they are. The rapes of women, the rapes of children, girls, and boys, this is a humanitarian crisis. And members of Congress and this administration are complicit in the abuse of hundreds and thousands of people.
Leahy: And let’s take a look at this. If you want to just be honest about the desire of the Biden maladministration, legal but not legitimate, to not enforce our immigration laws, actually, to violate them. Think about this. Joe Biden was inaugurated on January 20th.
Today it is October 26th. Joe Biden has not gone to visit the border. In fact, we don’t even know if he has ever visited the border. He claimed back in 2008 that he visited the border and crossed it.
But actually, the evidence that we see is he took a flight to El Paso and then drove across the border between Texas and New Mexico for a fundraiser. (Ogles chuckles) All right? That is it.
Ogles: The geography is a little off. (Laughing) I’ll tell you why they don’t take him to the border because their friend, he’s going to wander off. (Huey chuckles) I digress.
Leahy: Yeah, but he’s not all there. Let us be honest about where we are as a country right now. Joe Biden is not completely functioning. He’s a grifter who is legal, but not the legitimate commander in chief. And he’s being run by…fill in the blank.
There are probably half a dozen political operatives, all with a cell phone going directly to Barack Obama, right? Susan Rice and the guy who’s running as Chief of Staff. They’re the guys running this country. It’s not Joe Biden. He is an empty grifter vessel. You like that? (Chuckles)
Huey: Michael, that’s the problem that people don’t understand. It’s a left-wing, pro-socialist ideology. It’s ideologically driven. Every policy decision, I tell you. It looks like they’re ignoring the border. They’re not ignoring it. They’re happy about this.
Leahy: They’re happy about it.
Huey: And there are three crises that I see.
Leahy: You were in California and you saw this happen.
Huey: I saw the transformation. Here are the three things I saw from California that you’re going to see nationwide. Number one, bad players are coming in. People who are terrorists, criminals, and they mix into the crowd.
Leahy: And they’re being basically invited in by the Biden maladministration. It’s intentional.
Huey: It’s intentional. But it’s something that we’re going to see the consequence of for years. The second thing is this. The amount of new welfare, the amount of money going to education, to health people coming in are going to be living on taxpayers’ money, increasing our deficit, increasing our taxes.
It’s creating a dependency on the government that’s not going to be good. And the third one is the political organization. When they get their driver’s license in California, they have to check off a special box saying, I’m not eligible to vote.
And most don’t. They’re going to be put in as voters. If they’re on welfare, they’re automatically registered as voters. If they’re doing any type of government transfer. They also have these tight groups of political activation for these people.
Leahy: This is intentional. This is intentional. It’s replacement theory if you will. Andy?
Ogles: To underscore your comment that this is intentional. Keep in mind this caravan that’s moving north into the United States, these folks are from Central America, South America, and Haiti.
They’re traveling hundreds and in some cases, thousands of thousands of miles. There’s even a QR code that you can sign up to be a part of their caravan. They literally have a technology app that you can sign up with.
Leahy: Invade the United States today because we’re being invited by the legal but not legitimate grifter in chief.
Ogles: It literally has a how-to guide.
Huey: And remember, they’re shouting, yes we can on the way through. (Ogles chuckles)
Leahy: Here’s what’s going to happen? The Border Patrol, which has been entirely defanged intentionally by the Biden administration, they’re not going to do anything. They’re going to let them come in. They’re going to steamroll their way into the United States.
They’re going to wreak havoc with crime, et cetera. I think the governor of Texas is going to put their troops there. There will be a confrontation. Something bad is going to happen. That’s what I think is going to be happening.
Ogles:Â At this point, because again, we are a Republican free state. It’s going to be up to these border governors.
Leahy: You nailed it. And other governors ought to help him.
