Nashville District Attorney’s Office Says No Criminal Complaints Filed Against Tennessee Capitol Rioters

The office of Nashville District Attorney General Glenn Funk said no state or local criminal investigations are pending stemming from Thursday’s riot at the Tennessee State Capitol.

“I just checked with the folks here,” said Steve Hayslip, a Nashville District Attorney General’s spokesman. “No state or local law enforcement agency has brought any criminal complaint to this office for review.”

Thursday, thousands of protestors gathered outside the Tennessee Capitol Building, demanding gun control.

But in the early afternoon, the protest turned into a riot as a mob stormed the Capitol gallery, attempting to push its way into the Tennessee House chamber.

Harrowing video showed Tennessee State Troopers foiling the mob’s plan to enter the chamber.

The event was eerily reminiscent of the riot at the United States Capitol in January of 2021.

So far, more than 1,000 Americans have been arrested for their roles in that riot, with President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice promising to charge at least 1,000 more people.

The protest-turned-riot came in response to a Monday mass shooting at The Covenant School, during which 28-year-old Audrey Elizabeth Hale killed three children and three adults at the Christian school.

Among the dead are two personal friends of Tennessee First Lady Maria Lee.

“All of Tennessee was hurt yesterday, but some parents woke up without children. Children woke up without parents, without teachers,” said Gov. Bill Lee. “And spouses woke up without their loved ones.”

“Maria woke up this morning without one of her best friends – Cynthia (Cindy) Peak. Cindy was supposed to come over to have dinner with Maria last night after she filled in as a substitute teacher yesterday at Covenant,” he said. “Cindy, Maria, and Katherine Koonce were all teachers at the same school and have been family friends for decades.”

Observers continue to wait for the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to release details about a manifesto left behind by Hale.

If you are looking for Justice. Check a dictionary. It’s the only place you will find it.

Cut off state funding to Nashville law enforcement and court programs, full stop. Starve the beast.

I am not surprised at this act of cowardice. So now they feel they can disrupt our government whenever they feel like and next time they just may lay on more violence. In DC they called these actions insurrection and we have American citizens sitting prison for 2 years with no due process, no speedy trial. But in TN we just turn a blind eye. There is a time, place and process for peaceful demonstration and what happened in our capitol met none of those criteria. Not charging these violate mentally disturbed people is like giving them license to do it again and this time they just might decide to kick up a few notches.

Of course none of Funk’s compatriots were charged. But if they had been, the charges would have been dismissed. So… I suppose that no action saved a bunch of wasted police paperwork.

Why would there be any complaints? These anti-gun protestors (the ones without badges) are co-conspirators with the unregistered lobbyists in the THP and TBI and Tennessee Sheriff’s Association that actively work to continue the violation of civil rights in the same building. They are the same as the Pfake Pfizer Contingent Republicans. There is only one side.

So let me see if I understand this—do you actually mean to say that no one, not even those radical leftists (i.e., Democrat teacher union members?) in the galleries of the Tennessee House of Representatives chamber who cheered, and shouted, and disrupted the House so badly that it had to adjourn until later that afternoon, have been/will be charged? IS THIS WHAT YOU ARE SAYING!?

My word, WHAT DOES A MARXIST THUG HAVE TO DO, NOWADAYS, TO GET HIMSELF/HERSELF ARRESTED IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE!?
