Nashville Scene Apologizes for Promoting New Years Event with No COVID Restrictions

A weekly Nashville magazine apologized to readers Monday after promoting a Fox News sponsored New Years Eve event that will not require guests to wear masks, present a negative COVID-19 test or show proof of vaccination to partake.

“Due to a communication breakdown, a Nashville Scene marketing email went out this morning promoting a Fox News-sponsored event at Wildhorse Saloon requiring no proof of vaccination or negative COVID test. We regret this error and apologize to our readers. It won’t happen again,” Nashville Scene said on Twitter.

A photo of the email, which clearly shows Nashville Scene’s logo and endorsement of the event, circulated online.

The event will be held at The Wildhorse Saloon.

“Join us for FOX News All American New Year live from the Wildhorse!” the venue’s website says. “Featuring performances by Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, John Elefante former lead singer of Kansas, Ken Block & Drew Copeland of Sister Hazel, BBR Music Group recording artist Lindsay Ell, Sixwire, Brother Maven and Whiskey, Cash & Roses!”

Still, the Wildhorse said it is “following federal, state and local government Covid-19 protocols, which may be subject to change at any time.”

Radio show host and founder of outkick.com Clay Travis suspects there might have been a different motivation behind the newspaper’s apology.

“Every bar & restaurant in Nashville allows all to enter without proof of vaccination or a negative test. So will you be apologizing for all bar & restaurant advertisements or are you just mad [Fox News] is coming to town and throwing a New Year’s Eve party?” he asked the publication on Twitter.

COVID-19 concern has risen in the United States, as the public health apparatus and media outlets warn about the Omicron variant of the virus.

Still, the new variant of the illness is considered to be far less deadly than previous variants, and despite the fact that cases of COVID-19 are surging, hospitalizations and deaths from the new variant have remained low.

… you made the SCENE cave.

The Nashville Scene should apologize for its existence. That left leaning rag isn’t good enough to wipe my dogs behind.

COVID cases and deaths still rise and fall together in the US and they are VERY NEAR THE SAME as this time last year. I think nobody knows what the hell they’re talking about at this point. Shots didn’t change it. Masks didn’t change it. Lockdowns didn’t change it. Fear porn and virtue signaling from the media didn’t change it. Good for Fox news (even though they’re not much better than leftist media) and good for the Wild horse. At least they got it right on this one.
