New Georgia Poll Finds Republicans Walker, Kemp Widen Lead over Democratic Opponents

Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker and incumbent GOP Gov. Brian Kemp are both widening their leads over their Democratic opponents, according to a poll.

Former NFL star Walker is ahead of incumbent Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock by 47-44%, an InsiderAdvantage/FOX 5 Atlanta poll released Thursday shows. Libertarian nominee Chase Oliver is receiving 4% support with 5% of voters still undecided.

An Emerson College poll last month showed that Walker, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, led Warnock 46-44%.

“Warnock is winning among younger voters and seniors but trails badly among those 40-64. Men support Walker at 60%, while women support Warnock at 55%,” InsiderAdvantage Chairman Matt Towery said about the most recent poll. He predicted that the race could head to a runoff.

Meanwhile, Gov. Kemp is ahead of Democrat Stacey Abrams 50-42%. Kemp, who beat Abrams in 2018, was heavily criticized by former President Trump over his handling of the 2020 election.

Kemp’s lead has widened since the Emerson College poll last month showed Kemp leading Abrams 48-44%.

“Kemp leads in every age group in the survey. … Abrams has an impressive 54% of female voters while Kemp receives 63% from men,” Towery said.
