President Donald Trump endorsed Tennessee State Rep. Johnny Garrett (R-Goodlettsville) in the race for Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District.

Trump endorsed Garrett on Monday in a Truth Social post, calling the Republican nominee a “Seventh-Generation Goodlettsvillian and Proven Conservative Leader” who he said has been “championing our AMERICA FIRST Policies” in the Tennessee General Assembly since being elected in 2019.

“As your next Congressman, he will fight tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Promote our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Champion MADE IN THE U.S.A., Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump wrote.

The president added, “Johnny Garrett has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

Garrett (pictured above) said he was honored to receive Trump’s support and pledged to back the president’s agenda if elected to Congress.

“Since returning to office, President Trump has secured our border, deported illegal immigrants, banned men from competing in women’s sports, and so much more,” Garrett said. “In Congress, I will stop at nothing to stand with President Trump, pass his America First agenda, and bring a little more Tennessee to DC.”

Garrett also encouraged voters to participate in the upcoming November 3 general election, noting that early voting begins Wednesday, October 14, and runs through Thursday, October 29. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Saturday, October 24.

In the August 6 primary, Garrett secured the Republican nomination for the 6th Congressional District by receiving 37,388 votes, defeating former U.S. Representative Van Hilleary and two other candidates.

U.S. Rep. John Rose currently holds the seat; he did not seek reelection and instead ran unsuccessfully for governor.

Garrett will face Democratic nominee Mike Croley in November. Croley won the Democratic nomination in a five-candidate primary with 11,604 votes.
