Sen. Blackburn: Trump’s Arrest ‘Soros-Backed Play’ Targeting Former President

A U.S. senator from Tennessee is speaking out against today’s arrest and arraignment of former President Donald J. Trump.

“President Trump’s indictment is nothing but a cynical, Soros-backed play to take down a 2024 candidate and former president,” said Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).

Far-left Hungarian billionaire George Soros is tied to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who decided to indict Trump, via the Color of Change PAC, to which Soros donated $1 million, nearly half of which was spent on electing Bragg.

“President Trump’s indictment is nothing but a cynical, Soros-backed play to take down a 2024 candidate and former president,” she continued.

After Trump was officially arrested and arraigned, Blackburn sent a firestorm of Tweets in a long thread.

Yes, Every Kid

The American people see this for what it is — political prosecution. Soros-backed DA Alvin Bragg is allowing violent criminals to run free in his city while weaponizing the legal system in an attempt to take down a former President.

Make no mistake: if the former President’s name were anything but ‘Trump,’ he would not be facing these charges.

After Hillary Clinton violated federal election law when she covered up how her campaign spent thousands of dollars to secretly spy on President Trump, she was handed a slap on the wrist.

Today’s arraignment is proof that there are two tiers of justice. If they can do this to Trump, they can do it to you. This is fundamentally un-American.

She also noted that felony criminal prosecutions in New York have significantly declined under Bragg’s tenure as District Attorney.

“Soros-backed DA Alvin Bragg downgraded 52% of felonies to misdemeanors in NYC,” she said.

Trump was arraigned Tuesday on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

The former president, who looked stoic as he entered and exited the Manhattan criminal court, pleaded not guilty to all of the felony counts.

In New York, falsifying business records can be charged as a misdemeanor.

In an atypical move on behalf of the historically soft-on-crime Bragg, Trump was charged with felonies, apparently with little explanation as to why.

“Under New York state law, if you falsify your own business records, that’s a misdemeanor, a minor crime,” according to The Washington Post. To make it a felony, the government needs to prove that the falsification of the record was intended to commit and hide another crime. The indictment doesn’t say specifically what that other crime was.”

The Senator is correct. Bragg is simply doing what Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff and other democrats including Obama have tried do for the past six years. They are trying to sully President Trump’s 2024 campaign. To all of them, Bragg included, today you are the hunter in this attack, as administrations change, you may become the prey. I did not like how Clinton was treated as President and commented then that in time retaliation would occur. Biden, and his drug addicted son, will be on trial within 3 years. Will that be retaliation or justice? When will this political rancor quit? Only when we, the voters, flush out DC of the over paid self-serving partisan politicos. Bragg should be investigated for prosecutorial misconduct and removed from office. President Trump brings some of this on himself, make no mistake, with the brash name calling usually limited to teenagers. The one common element throughout the rancor US wide is George Soros. It is long overdue to thoroughly investigate his actions. He is clearly trying to destabilize the US society.
