Pro-American immigration groups want voters to tell legislators in Washington that no amnesty fix for illegal aliens whose parents brought them to the U.S. illegally and who later received deferred deportation under Obama’s unconstitutional DACA program can be considered, if at all, until after certain fixes are made to the immigration system.
And the same thing goes for any form of a “DREAM Act” to help an even larger group of illegal aliens.
Activists that want immigration reform that makes Americans’ interests the priority, say that any Congressional action must first terminate the visa lottery program, end chain migration, increase interior enforcement and fund the border wall.
Tennesseans who have delivered the “no amnesty” message to Sen. Lamar Alexander’s office, however, are being told that Lamar’s priority is to help illegal aliens by reviving the ‘Gang of Eight’ amnesty bill which he voted for in 2013:

Thanks very much for getting in touch with me and letting me know what’s on your mind regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
On September 5, 2017, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the Department of Homeland Security was ending the program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The DACA program was initiated on June 15, 2012, by the Obama Administration. President Obama himself then called this a “temporary, stopgap measure.” The program permitted those who were brought to the United States as juveniles and met several criteria to request consideration of deferred action of immigration enforcement for a period of two years, subject to renewal, and eligibility for work authorization.
The September 5, 2017 decision by the Trump administration sunset the DACA program, and calls on Congress to fix the problem within the next six months. During that time, no new applications will be accepted. If an application is pending it will be processed, and the announcement does not terminate previously issued work authorization documents.
The President is right to call on Congress to address this issue. Under our system of government Congress makes the laws, not the President. Just as President Nixon went to China, President Trump uniquely can lead a revision of our immigration laws that secures our borders, improves our system of legal immigration and solves problems such as the 800,000 children who grew up here, but were brought here illegally. I voted for such a law in 2013 and am willing to work with the president to do that again.

Contrary to Lamar’s characterization of the 2013 bill, it was an amnesty-first or at least amnesty-alongside possible enforcement measures. What was clear however, was that it put illegal aliens in the U.S. on a path to the voting booth before securing the border or achieving other stated immigration priorities.
Lamar was one of 14 Republican Senators who jumped in with the Democrats to support illegal aliens in the U.S. while the other 32 Republican Senators voted against the bill. Proponents of the bill insisted that it did not grant amnesty to illegal aliens. However, the bill allowed illegal aliens who arrived prior to January 2o12, to remain in the U.S. with legal status, pay fines and be put on a path to citizenship, instead of deportation which is the regular penalty for having entered the country illegally.
The ‘Gang of Eight’ amnesty bill was never brought to the House floor.
Yeah. Well, I want Lamar gone. I’ve sit donating to the RNC over him and Corker,, and I’ve written to Corner, NEC to let them know,
No to DACA Lamar. American children have dreams too. American children should come first. Send the illegal aliens back to their country of origin with their parents who broke our laws by entering our country illegally. Our resources should be spent taking care of our citizens, not Mexico’s.
Mr Alexander is in no way voting the will of the people of the great state of Tennessee he reposents, money not the will of the people gets his attention. Voted against him last time and if he runs I will vote against him again! My Opinion
Lamar is a lost cause but what makes him and his actions relevant is that he was the recipient of campaign contributions from 5 times “conservative” in a 60 second add Shane Reeves. You know, “conservative” in the same way I heard Lindsey Graham describe himself as a “conservative Republican” today. The only question is whether we will let Shane get away with it like Lamar and Lindsey.
