Rep. Steve Cohen Uses Coronavirus As Excuse to Bash Donald Trump

U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09) on Friday used the coronavirus as yet another reason to take political jabs at U.S. Republican President Donald Trump.

Cohen did so in his weekly emailed newsletter to his constituents.

“On Wednesday, I voted for, and the House passed, an emergency supplemental spending measure to fund a comprehensive response to the coronavirus outbreak which has become a serious public health crisis,” Cohen said.

“We must ensure all federal agencies have the support they need to develop an affordable vaccine and ensure our front-line medical personnel are properly protected as they treat what is becoming a virulent and lethal pandemic. The Trump Administration’s effort to play down the dire nature of the threat has delayed the appropriate response, and we need to catch up quickly. To that end, I sent out an email blast to my constituents earlier this week with the CDC’s guidelines for dealing with the crisis.”

This is not the first time Cohen has used the outbreak of a potentially deadly virus as a reason to attack Republicans.

As reported, Cohen said years ago the Ebola virus would mutate into a Biblical-style plague that would devastate Tennessee–  unless state Republicans in the Tennessee General Assembly complied fully with Obamacare and expanded Medicaid.

Among other things, as reported, Cohen has also, in the past, done or said the following:

• Warned that a Trump rally in North Carolina was on par with Nazism.

• Expressed delight over the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives no longer requiring people to say “so help me God” under oath.

• At the time of the Notre Dame Cathedral fire in France earlier this year, Cohen used the occasion to say Trump is “torching the entire structure of government.”

• Said the Founding Fathers created the nation’s Electoral College as a way to hurt black people.

• Pushed for a formal study on slavery reparations.

Co-sponsored the Green New Deal

Celebrated people on welfare not having to work for their benefits

Compared U.S. Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn to the mentally-challenged Waterboy character

Spent $200,000 of taxpayer money on a study to determine whether stress makes kids fat.

• Lost his temper at a news conference in Memphis in 2013 when Tennessee Watchdog asked former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius what she would say to people whose health insurance costs doubled or tripled due to Obamacare.

• Said Tea Party supporters are no different than arsonists and compared Republicans to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels for opposing Obamacare.

• Said Blackburn should jump off the Harahan Bridge in Memphis.

Chicken S**T Dems and RINOs like Cohen, are thinking of abandoning their posts in DC out of their fear of the Corona Virus, running home and hiding in their basements, raising their draw bridge, protecting their families, with NOT A WORD of concern about the safety of those in the front lines like the Public Health workers along our Southern Border who have to put up with disease ridden IA’s storming through with medically resistant TB, Influenza, SARS, MERS, COVID19, Measles and other maladies. Of course, they get paid just the same. maybe have a slack in their lobbyist payoffs. Disgusting!

  2. Steve Cohen ad his Brother are know as the Tennessee Clowns. To bad their antics cause harm rather than any amusement. That’s not any surprise for wherever the new democrats they bring tyranny, empty our pockets, take our Rights away, or tax and restrict them or “Change.” ,

  3. Ron Welch

So Cohen compared Republicans to NAZI’s for opposing Obamacare? Since NAZI is the acronym for National Socialist Workers Party, it would be much more applicable to leftist Democrats.

Also, if “Americans”, “police” and “military” are substituted in the following quote, it is about the same as advocated by many leftist Democrats:

“Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA — ordinary citizens don’t need guns, as their having guns doesn’t serve the State.”― Heinrich Himmler, NAZI Gestapo Chief

Also, there is a significant anti Semitic and anti Israel contingent in the Democratic Party which fits with NAZI views. Once again, we have Democrats like Cohen following the “Rules for Radicals” of Saul Alinsky, “Accuse others of what you do”.

    Cohen = political hack.

The Lunatic Fringe Liberals used this chance as an opportunity to spend billions of dollars to further their ambitions. Trump should have veto’d the bill and told them to come back with a reasonable solution.

Need to ask Rep Cohen why his party insisted on sending over $8 billion when those in the know were asking for $2.5 billion? I suppose it was to show that they were more compassionate using my tax dollars. Of course it the GOP had balked at throwing unnecessary dollars at this then Cohen and his fiscally liberal cohorts would have accused he administration and GOP of not caring. What a loser!
