Tennessee U.S. Rep. Assists in Getting Two Tennesseans Safely Out of Israel

Tennessee U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03) announced Wednesday his office was successful in assisting two Tennesseans safely get out of Israel following Hamas’ October terrorist attack on the country.

“I can announce that my office has successfully assisted in getting two residents of #TN03 safely out of Israel,” Fleischmann wrote on social media. “My office has remained in close contact with these constituents and their families throughout this process. We thank God that they’re safe and out of harm’s way. The safety of East Tennesseans is one of my top priorities – my office always remains ready to help Tennesseans no matter where they are in the world.”

Fleischmann’s announcement came on the day President Joe Biden traveled to Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the White House, the pair had a “comprehensive discussion” of Israel’s strategy in response to Hamas’ terrorist attack and ongoing efforts to secure the release of hostages taken by the terrorist group.

Since the October 7th attack on Israel, more than 1,400 people, including at least 30 Americans, have been confirmed dead.

One day after the terrorist group’s attack, nine members of the Tennessee Congressional Delegation, including Fleischmann, sent a letter to Biden urging his administration to support Israel “however possible” and “punish the terrorists” responsible for the attacks on the country.

“Over 75 years ago, the United States was the first nation to recognize the Jewish state of Israel and affirm its right to exist. Now, in the face of senseless attacks by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists, we must again stand with Israel and reaffirm its right to defend itself. The United States of America does not abandon its friends,” the lawmakers wrote.

“We urge this administration to support Israel however possible, including by providing any and all weapons and munitions necessary, and to punish the terrorists who did this, along with those who aid them. We must act swiftly and strongly,” the lawmakers added.

What ?? Where was Memphis rep, Steve ‘Chicken Man’ Cohen ? As a member of the Jewish community ( In Name Only), you would have thought he would be at the front of the line helping these Tennessee families. Guess he was at KFC picking up his order. Thanks Congressman Fleischmann for your help in getting these folks home.
