On Friday’s Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – Leahy was joined in studio by all-star panelist Crom Carmichael who took a call from Bernadette, a frequent caller.
Towards the end of the third hour, Bernadette explained her strategy for helping educate black voters about the Democrats’ real plan for mental slavery and what their true intentions have been historically. She predicted that in this year’s presidential election, Trump would receive 30%-50% of the black vote.
Leahy: We are joined now on the phone by Bernadette. Bernadette, good morning how are you? I’m glad to hear from you. Been a few weeks since you’ve called.
Bernadette: I know.
Leahy: You always bring it, Bernadette!
Bernadette: Yes, I do. I am so thankful to you and your guest panelist for the subject of Martin Luther King Jr. you know with me being a black person and all. I grew up in identity politics. That’s what’s been done in the black community. It’s all about black and white, black and white. Evil rich white man. Poor black man slave. Dumb. Retarded. Stupid black people.
That’s how it’s always been. You all going to always be evil. Rich and white. And there’s nothing we can do until we start educating ourselves better and start paying attention. I hear this all the time. I mean, it’s just ad nauseam that this is still going on. And I’m not afraid of my age. I’m 52, so I’ve been hearing this for the last 52 basic years.
My father was a Democrat and my mom was a Republican. So I heard it from both sides, well basically identity politics from the Democrat side but not from the Republican side. It doesn’t surprise me that we’re still dealing with this identity politics even though I was hoping it would be over by now. And this is how they do. I’m going to start early voting in another couple of two-three weeks.
And I’m going to start hearing all this all over again. How the president is evil. How all rich white men are evil. All over again. I’ve been talking to as many black people as I can that’s why you haven’t heard from me. I have Trump gear, Make America Great again leggings. And I’ve got three different Trump hats. And I go straight to the hood. Because I want somebody to say something to me.
But I also use it as an opportunity to talk about who he really is and what his policies are. And believe it or not, I’ve been getting more positive responses than I’ve gotten negative. So I’m going to keep talking in the hood. I don’t need anybody to go with me. I’m not scared of these people. I will keep going in my full Trump gear. And I don’t care what they say.
Leahy: Do you sense a difference in the black community towards Trump now versus Trump before 2016?
Bernadette: Yes. Yes. Yes. I actually talked to a couple of young millennials last year. And I asked them because I had on Trump gear, and they asked me why I was wearing it. And I told them because he’s my boss number one and I can support anybody I want number two. And the first thing they said is that he’s a racist. Because of the way he was treating kids at the border.
And so I’m thinking ok. So I raised my hand and when I’m confused and got a question I raise my hand like in school. So I said, “Ok, so if Trump is racist for separating kids at the border so then-President Lyndon B. Johnson and everybody else since then is racist too because the welfare system has been separating black families and even white ones all these years since its inception. But that’s not racist. But separating kids from Mexico is racist? I said that doesn’t even make sense.
Leahy: How did they respond?
Bernadette: They couldn’t. They were just standing there with mouths wide open because they couldn’t believe that a black Trump supporter actually knew something. (Leahy laughs) Because you know we’re supposed to be ignorant. So they just stood there. So then I started running down about Martin Luther King Jr. and the Democrat Party and how they were responsible for the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X and Medgar Evers, and basically John F. Kennedy.
If you really want to be truthful about it. And how this is a big ‘ole set up to basically take us out of physical enslavement and now putting us in mental enslavement in order to control us. And we’ve fallen for it hook line and sinker. And it’s so frustrating to see.
Carmicheal: Bernadette, let me ask you another question. Trump won 8% of black percent of the vote in 2016. What percentage of the black vote do you think he will win in 2020?
Bernadette: Between 30 and 50%.
Leahy and Carmichael: (In unison) Wow!
Carmichael: Boy I tell you what if you are right even at the low end of your range, that will be earth-shaking. And by the way, I think if that happens I think you’ll see a proliferation of charter schools. I think you’ll see the leaders of the teacher’s unions, not the teachers, under attack because it’s the leaders that keep our schools in the condition where they underperform. But let me say this, I appreciate you and I appreciate what you’re doing. And your thinking. What are some of the authors that you’ve read that have led you to think the way you think?
Bernadette: I have not read any authors. This thing is a big common sense thing. And God has given me some insight on a whole lot of things. And he was the one that gave this to me last year. He put this in my mind and connected the dots. Think about it? All four of those men had us together on one accord coming together. On one accord.
Black people. White people. Everybody here in the United States. And shortly after if I’m not mistaken, JFK’s meeting with all those civil rights people including Martin Luther King Jr., not too long after that he was assassinated and then everybody else was assassinated right after that.
These people did not die from natural causes. They were assassinated out in public to scare the “bejesus” out of us black people in order to control us again. And then stuck [Al] Sharpton and [Jesse] Jackson and the rest of those idiots in there. Now look at the state of the race right now. It’s common sense. The Lord gave me that.
Carmichael: Bernadette, let me ask you this. Which age group, which gender, do you think that this increasing support for Donald Trump is across the board? Or is it more among younger or older black voters? What are you seeing out there?
Bernadette: I think it’s younger, younger voters. Maybe a few my age in the 50s. But from working at Bordeaux where I worked in early voting, those people in there know. There’s a high percentage in there that are Donald Trump Republican white folk haters. And I’m the sell-out for hanging out with you all. It doesn’t matter because I’m tough, strong, and have very thick skin.
Leahy: Has Kanye West’s I don’t know what you’d call it, a philosophical revolution in his mind to be more aggressively Christian and pro-Trump I guess. Has that had an impact on younger black voters in your view?
Bernadette: Yes. Yes. It has. And that’s the reason why a lot of his supporters now are listening to Kanye West. I personally I’m kind of torn between with his whole transformation because again I know the Bible and I know the devil knows the Bible, and he can be slick at conning people and manipulating people.
And he just flipped flopped after he met with the President last August. And because he got push back from the hood he decided, oh well no. And then he was all up in their faces for a minute. Then all of a sudden he had this change from the Lord. Look who he’s hanging around. People like Joel Olstein. No. No. I’m very leery.
I think it’s a sheep in wolves’ clothing. We shall see. We shall see. But I do think because of what he’s doing a lot of younger black folks are coming into their own and thinking on their own as far as Donald Trump. I like that part. But the religious message I’m kind of leery of. But yeah, I hope we keep talking. It’s going to take somebody like him to get the message out.
Leahy: Bernadette. A rhetorical tour de force here on The Tennessee Star Report. Great job and keep calling.
