GALLATIN — U.S. Rep. John Rose, a Republican representing Tennessee’s Sixth Congressional District, serves on the House Financial Services Committee — but he has to work alongside three of the four members of “The Squad,” including Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez.
And he also has to work under Democratic Chairwoman Maxine Waters of California.
As if that weren’t enough, people on social media take remarks Rose has made on that committee wildly out of context, he told a gathering in Gallatin this week.
Rose made his remarks while speaking to the Rotary Club of Gallatin, where he described Waters as “an outspoken, sometimes vitriolic personality.”
Rose also said members of “The Squad” “give not only the whole committee fits, but they give Chairwoman Waters fits as well.”
Rose told the story of the day he was the ranking Republican on the committee and was called upon to sit next to Waters while questioning Kathy Kraninger, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
“There are those of you familiar with how the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is a fairly new government agency created in 2010. It has been notorious because of a practice they call regulation by enforcement. And what regulation by enforcement means is that the CFPB has been pretty lackluster when it comes to issuing rules when it comes to directions or guidance of the financial institutions across the country,” Rose told the audience.
“Instead they just show up and issue either warnings or fines when they believe you have done something you shouldn’t,” he continued. “So, you can understand that if you are in the financial services industry then you don’t know what you don’t know until you are punished for doing it. That is a little disconcerting.”
That’s when Rose said he decided to use the example of his two-year-old son Guy.
“I said ‘Director Kraninger, the way CFPB has operated it would be like if I had just spanked my son every time that he did something wrong, but I never told him what I had expected of him.’ I thought I had made a great point. I finished up my remarks. I turned the lectern back over to the speaker (Waters),” Rose said.
“She gives it to the next member. She leans over and whispers into my ear and says ‘Congressman Rose, you need to let that little boy grow up and learn how to be a little bit adventuresome.’ Then I thought I got scolded by the chairwoman. Maybe that’s a good thing. But then I get back to my office, and a staff member informs me that social media has lit up with news of the congressman who is abusing his two-year-old son.”
The audience of about 35 people laughed.
Rose later said, “There is a lot of excessive acrimony in Washington, D.C., and a lot of people there should take a chill pill.”

My heart goes out to him dealing with that clown show every day.
But the spanking thing is no joke – there is a UN Commission that is at the forefront of a campaign to outlaw spanking – along with slapping the child’s hand, or even raising your voice – all are considered acts of violence against children.

If the globalists have their way, Rep. Rose would be guilty of child abuse, have his child removed from his custody by local Child Protective Services, with no recourse nor ability to contact his own child.
