U.S. Rep. Mark Green and Americans for Prosperity Schedule Nashville Event to Warn About Joe Biden’s $4 Trillion Infrastructure Plans

Members of Americans for Prosperity — Tennessee (AFP-TN) have scheduled an event where they will host U.S. Mark Green (R-TN-07) and AFP President Tim Phillips to discuss what they say are significant problems with U.S. President Joe Biden’s $4 trillion infrastructure proposal.

The event, which AFP officials have titled the End Washington Waste Event, is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. Monday, May 24, at the Bold Patriot Brewing Company at 410 39th Ave. N. in Nashville.

This, according to a press release that AFP officials published this week.

According to AFP’s website, Biden’s $4 trillion proposal is not about infrastructure as it spends less than 5 percent of Americans’ tax dollars on improving roads and bridges.

“Instead, it allocates over 95 percent of the money to a wasteful partisan wish list of counterproductive policies that have nothing to do with ‘infrastructure. And how would Washington pay for it? With historic tax hikes that would worsen our devastated economy, hurt workers’ wages, crush small business – only to fall far short of actually paying for the partisan spending spree,” according to AFP.

AFP officials said this proposal would also:

Yes, Every Kid

• Raise taxes on families and small businesses by trillions of dollars.

• Mandate more government control over health care

• Implement elements of the Green New Deal by dishing out special interest subsidies and carveouts

• Impose pieces of the anti-worker PRO act, hurting workers, businesses, and independent contractors

• Spend trillions of dollars more in unrelated and ineffective spending

“We can rebuild our economy, make improvements to infrastructure, and address other critical needs without massive tax increases and trillions in new spending,” AFP officials said.

Tennesseans interested in attending can register here.

Green this week introduced legislation on Thursday to require a three-fifths supermajority vote to approve any tax increases.

Biden has called for a dramatic increase in taxes as a part of his infrastructure bill — the “American Jobs Plan.” The proposal sends taxpayer funds to multiple categories outside the traditional definition of infrastructure — including child care and housing.
