U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09) on Thursday released a video bragging about his achievements in the 116th Congress, although the video didn’t mention his more outlandish, offensive, or insensitive displays of behavior during that time.
The video, which Cohen’s staff uploaded to the congressman’s Facebook page, shows him pushing to impeach U.S. President Donald Trump and pledging to address the death of George Floyd. Later, the video reports that Cohen delivered nearly $387 million in federal taxpayer money to his district, which includes Memphis.
Among the things Cohen did in this current session of Congress that he neglected to mention:
• Said that African-American U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) “might as well be” White and ridiculed the death of former presidential candidate Herman Caine.
• Endorsed a video of actor Robert De Niro bragging he wants to punch Trump in the face.
• Blamed U.S. Attorney General William Barr for the death of Jeffrey Epstein. Cohen said this during a House Judiciary Committee hearing.
• Mocked Barr at another House Judiciary Committee hearing by feasting on Kentucky Fried Chicken as a prop to prove Barr was chicken for not showing up. Cohen’s stunt at the time backfired— with conservatives and liberals.
• Called Trump a “textbook narcissist and sociopath” after Trump commuted the prison sentence of Roger Stone.
• Pushed for mail-in voting and warned that Russians were in America putting out misinformation about COVID-19. Cohen warned that Russians were trying to make Americans believe Pentagon staff caused or created COVID-19.
• Bashed MyPillow, Inc. CEO Mike Lindell as just some guy who “makes pillows” and kisses Trump’s posterior. This, after Lindell appeared alongside Trump at a press conference and announced his company will manufacture face masks for hospitals across the country. Lindell said his company would do this to help alleviate the national shortage of N95 respirator masks in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.
• Warned that a Trump rally in North Carolina was on par with Nazism.
• Expressed delight over the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives no longer requiring people to say “so help me God” under oath.
• At the time of the Notre Dame Cathedral fire in France last year, Cohen used the occasion to say Trump is “torching the entire structure of government.”
• Said the Founding Fathers created the nation’s Electoral College as a way to hurt Black people.
• Pushed for a formal study on slavery reparations.
• Co-sponsored the Green New Deal.
• Used a rape analogy to describe Trump’s time as president.
As The Tennessee Star has reported several times, Cohen takes political and personal jabs at the 45th president whenever and wherever possible.

Your gem of a congressman just suggested National Guardsmen, and least those White and male, might be plotting against Biden. If you ever voted for this turd, you own his comments.
Bragging about pandering to deliver money to your district is the same as prostitution. Any Tennesseean who watched this slimeball open his mouth in Congress should be embarrassed. He has voted to waste more of your tax dollars than any local benefit. Let alone 4 years of lies against the President….Tennessee needs to scrutinize Cohen’s bank account and family…..like the Bidens, Clinton’s.
Cohen should move to California. He fits right in.
Cohen is a small minded person, not man.
Cohen is a first class Democrat. He is a lying, self serving and evil SOB.
As an old white man with a pedigree stretching from First Families of Pennsylvania to Massachusetts I would whole heartedly like to say I unequivocally support and endorse Congressman Steven Cohen.
David H Marshall Jr.
cohen is a slimeball. embarrassment to the state of tn.
Steve Cohen is a bigger embarrassment to TN than the meth epidemic.
Steve Cohen is the epitome of the “donkey” party. A class-less clown.
This is a man who knows the voters in his district will continue to vote D and can show the kind of person he really is. The Democrat party would like to to make the Republican party irrelevant, if they ever succeed in that goal a representative like Steve Cohen is coming to a town near you. In their mind they won’t have to pander anymore to the hicks who vote R and can be their true selves.
