The transgender clinic at Tennessee’s Vanderbilt University in Nashville, which administers body-altering drugs and performs mutilating surgeries such as double mastectomies, is a big money maker for the hospital.
“Vanderbilt opened its trans clinic in 2018,” reported author Matt Walsh in a social media thread. “During a lecture the same year, Dr. Shayne Taylor explained how she convinced Nashville to get into the gender transition game. She emphasized that it’s a ‘big money maker,’ especially because the surgeries require a lot of ‘follow ups.’”

During the lecture, Shayne Taylor, M.D., an assistant professor of medicine who specializes in adolescent LGBT health, pediatrics, and transgender health, noted to her audience that the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) requires insurance carriers to cover medical expenses for transgender individuals.
Taylor said the Vanderbilt financial people began discussing the idea of a gender clinic and “how much money we think each patient would bring in”:
And this is only including top surgery. This isn’t including any bottom surgery. And it’s a lot of money. These surgeries make a lot of money. So, female to male chest reconstruction can bring in $40,000. A patient just on routine hormone treatment who is only seen a few times a year can bring in several thousand dollars … Now these are not from the internet. But it’s from the Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery, which has done a lot of surgery for patients. I just want to give you an idea of how much bottom surgeries are making …
“These surgeries are labor intensive,” Taylor emphasized to her audience. “They require a lot of follow-up. They require a lot of O.R. [operating room] time, and they make money – they make money for the hospital.”

As Walsh reported, Vanderbilt’s Ellen Wright Clayton, J.D., M.D., a professor of pediatrics, law, and health policy, and the co-founder of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine’s Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society, warned staff that “conscientious objectors” are “problematic,” and that personnel who refuse to be involved in transgender surgeries due to their “religious beliefs” will face “consequences.”

The Vanderbilt gender clinic has also launched its “Trans Buddies” Program, in which transgender activists attend medical appointments with gender dysphoric patients to monitor the behavior and words of the doctors as they interact with the patients and to report any “unsafe” behavior such as the use of the wrong pronouns.

I defend Vanderbilt Hospital’s decision to perform trans-surgery for minors who cannot adjust to their assigned biological sex. Our sex roles, especially for males in this country, are very oppressive and stifling by forcing boys to suppress all their emotions except for those that advocate violent machismo. The people who bully trans-children are the REAL sickos. I have never had any trouble from a trans-person in my life, but the people in jr. and sr. high school who DID give me trouble were right-wing WHITE people (mostly, but not exclusively male). It’s easy to bully or marginalized somebody weaker than you, but not somebody who is stronger than you! You conservatives are a bunch of COWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the result of what happens when mentally ill people are given positions of power instead of treatment.

I worked at VUMC for years and can tell you that this is not the first time this institution sold its soul for gold. But this is as evil and corrupt as gets.
I hope Marsha Blackburn will cut Vanderbilt federal funding off! They no longer need taxpayers hard earned dollars to support this liberal policy ! We need to start cutting the federal budget and get back to a balanced budget like the state of Tennessee!!
My money says Lee will fold like a cheap suit. It is time we stopped all tax payer funding of Vanderbilt. They surely get enough money from the globalists and NIH. They do not need our money. They have been on the wrong side of education and science for a long time and our legislators just keep hiding their head in the sand. Or is it they are getting something out of Vanderbilt too??? I cannot wait for the “nothing to see here” statement from the Lee administration and our Assembly.

Vanderbilt has certainly done a fine job of destroying themselves! How rock-bottom can you go? They are so far away from the “one of the top 5 hospitals in the country” that they used to be. I can say that none of the doctors I have seen in the system are all that impressive. There will be a lawsuit one day over this transgender crap that will do them in and put them, if not completely out, at least very close to being completely out.
For people that think they are so much smarter than everyone else, they sure are dumb!
That is so utterly reprehensible! Changing the gender of someone under 18 years old should be against the law. And to top it all off the hospital admits….to quote Frank Zappa; “we”re only in it for the money”. This focus on money in the medical industry is nowhere more obvious than during the plandemic, which is the greatest crime against humanity in the history of the world.
