Trump was in Knoxville on September 27 for the matchup, which coincided with ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast from the University of Tennessee campus. The Tennessee-Texas game marked Trump’s ninth college football game attended across his two terms in office.
The Clarksville rally will come just four days before Tennessee’s early voting period begins for the November 3 general election. Early voting is scheduled to begin Wednesday, October 14, and continue through Thursday, October 29.
Republicans in Tennessee welcomed the announcement of Trump’s return.
“BREAKING NEWS: [President Trump] is coming back to Tennessee!” U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), the Republican nominee for governor, said in a post on X. “This November’s midterm elections are a choice between common sense and socialism. Tennessee stands tall as a red wall of conservatism. Honored to welcome President Trump back to the Volunteer State!”
U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) also promoted the visit, writing, “Get ready, Tennessee- President [President Trump] is headed back to the Volunteer State!”
Former Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs also reacted to the announcement.
“Once isn’t good enough,” Jacobs wrote. “[President Trump] is coming back to the volunteer state this weekend. The fight doesn’t end until we elect every Republican in TN!”
Trump will reportedly fly in and out of Fort Campbell Army Airfield Saturday, according to Clarksville Now.
