Vice President Kamala Harris plans to meet with two former Democratic lawmakers in Tennessee who the legislature ousted this week over their conduct during a recent gun control protest at the state Capitol.
The legislature on Thursday expelled state Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson but failed to oust Rep. Gloria Johnson by a single vote.
During a recent protest, the trio approached the podium and used a bullhorn to shout encouragement to the protesters outside, who were demanding gun control legislation.
Harris, who will make the trip on Friday, also plans to meet with young gun control advocates, the Washington Times reported. The push for gun control follows a recent mass shooting in which a transgender individual killed three children and three faculty members at a Christian school in Nashville, Tenn.
“While in Tennessee, the Vice President will make clear what happened in Nashville, continue to call on Congress to renew the assault weapons ban and ensure that in Tennessee and across the nation, the voices of our young people are heard,” the White House stated.
It remains unclear if Harris intends to meet with any of the families of the shooter’s victims.

…and just what is she going to do or say with the expelled representatives? Everything that woman touches goes haywire. Her work on border security? Well, she didn’t make it to the border, instead traveling to a child care facility in the northeast. She has done nothing except embarrass the United States on the world stage. Really, what is she going to say? I look forward to the “word salad” comments she will provide punctuated by cackling.
