A number of notable Florida congressional Republicans voted in favor of H.R. 4350, the National Defense Authorization Act, which included a gun confiscation provision commonly referred to as a “Red Flag law” directed towards military members.
Within the text of the bill, gun confiscation would be permitted under a military court order and the court would be able to prevent a member of the United States armed forces from owning a firearm.
“(A) military court protective order issued on an ex parte basis shall restrain a person from possessing, receiving, or otherwise accessing a firearm; and…”
The Gun Owners of America (GOA), a gun rights organization, said on Twitter some Republicans who supported the legislation are downplaying the provision being included in the bill. The GOA quickly highlighted the text of the bill where the Red Flag law is included and has frequently advocated against Red Flag laws as they say the provisions are an infringement on Second Amendment rights.
“Some House RINOs who supported Red Flag laws in the #NDAA on Thursday are falsely claiming the bill doesn’t really have gun confiscation order for the military,” the GOA said. “Maybe they didn’t read the bill, but we did.”

The Florida House Republicans who voted for the bill are:
- Gus Bilrakis (R-FL-12),
- Vern Buchanan (R-FL-16),
- Kat Cammack (R-FL-3),
- Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL-25),
- Neal Dunn (R-FL-2),
- C. Scott Franklin (R-FL-15),
- Matt Gaetz (R-FL-1),
- Carlos Gimenez (R-FL-26),
- Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL-27), and
- Michael Waltz (R-FL-6).
The Florida House Republicans who voted against the bill are:
- Byron Donalds (R-FL-19),
- Brian Mast (R-FL-18),
- Bill Posey (R-FL-8),
- John Rutherford (R-FL-4), and
- Greg Steube (R-FL-17).
Red Flag laws have been passed in numerous states in recent years as part of a gun control crackdown, including in Florida, when then-Gov. Rick Scott (R) signed the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act in 2018, which permitted law enforcement to get a court order and seize firearms from people considered to be a danger to themselves or others.
In 2019, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported that approximately 2,000 Floridians have had their firearms seized by law enforcement under Florida’s Red Flag law.
All Florida congressional Democrats voted in favor of H.R. 4350.

You could place your life on the line during the beginning of the pandemic by being a front line worker, and if you’ve already had Covid and recovered, unless you ignore science and get take the vaccine, your dispensable and not needed, you’ll also lose your benefits.
Do you see a pattern here, unless you fall in line with the edicts coming from Washington, you’re no longer needed in this country.
