Virginia Sheriff Calls for Strict Borders After Two Illegal Immigrants Arrested for Shooting in Alleged Road Rage Incident

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office on Friday confirmed the arrest of two illegal immigrants who were charged with firing at a moving vehicle during a road rage incident, causing damage to the vehicle but no injuries to its passengers, prompting Sheriff Mike Chapman to urge the federal government to improve border security.

In a press release, the sheriff’s office announced the arrests of Aldo Betancourth Rivera and Jimmy Paredes Madrid, who authorities described as, “both of Sterling and undocumented.”

Lawyers Representing Illegal Immigrant Jose Ibarra Request New Trial for Murder of Laken Riley

Attorneys representing Jose Ibarra, the Venezuelan illegal immigrant sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student killed while jogging on the University of Georgia campus, on Tuesday formally requested a new trial for their client.

Ibarra was found guilty of all charges related to his murder of Riley by Athens-Clarke County Superior Court Judge Patrick Haggard on November 20. The judge rendered his verdict after Ibarra waived his right to a trial by jury, and instead allowed the judge to determine his fate at a bench trial.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) told Governor Bill Lee on Tuesday the expanding Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua is now present in all of Tennessee’s “major cities,” and warned the group is engaged in human trafficking, organized retail theft, and drug trafficking nationwide.

On Wednesday, TBI communications director Josh DeVine confirmed to The Tennessee Star the bureau “has increased concerns about the potential for crime connected to Tren de Aragua (TdA), a prominent, violent Venezuelan transnational gang.”

Tennessee Nonprofit Tapped by ICE to Release Thousands of Illegal Immigrants Received over $800,000 in Government Grants

Tax documents reveal the nonprofit contacted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to facilitate the transportation and release of thousands of illegal immigrants from detention facilities in Louisiana to Tennessee in 2022 received more than $800,000 of its funding from government sources that year.

Documents released last week by Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti reveal the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Resettlement Coalition (TIRRC) was central to ICE’s plan to release thousands of illegal immigrants in the Volunteer State.

Representative Mark Green (R-TN-07) on Tuesday warned the United States “simple cannot go on like this as a country” after U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released new data revealing federal immigration officials encountered more than 1.3 million encounters with illegal immigrants who would not ordinarily be allowed to enter the country.

Green, who chairs the House’s Homeland Security committee, made the remarks after CBP also announced it recorded more than 1.5 million illegal immigrant apprehensions at the southern border during the 2024 fiscal year.

Man Police Say Committed Hit-and-Run in Fatal Pennsylvania Motorcycle Accident is Illegal Immigrant

The man accused of fleeing the scene of an accident that killed a young musician in Dormont, Pennsylvania is an illegal immigrant, Allegheny County police reportedly confirmed on Monday.

Police say the crash occurred Saturday night, with the Allegheny County Police Department (ACPD) reporting 25-year-old Saul Rivera-Ramirez ran away from the scene on foot after crashing into the motorcycle driven by 23-year-old Christian Sluka. First responders found Sluka in critical condition and he passed away at a local hospital, according to ACPD.
