Commentary: GOP Senate Needs to Show Up to Work and Block Biden Labor Board Chair Pick

Lauren McFerren, President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden is engaged in an end of presidency power play to keep Democrat control over the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) by pushing a renewal of current chair Lauren McFerran to another term. Senate Republicans should do everything in their power to stop this power play and allow newly elected President Donald Trump to name the next Chairperson. This means that they have to all show up to each lame duck Senate session to stop any funny business.

Commentary: Nearly Four Years Later, No Letup in Jan. 6 Prosecutions, Possible Pardons or Not

Biden and Garland

by Julie Kelley   Even as President-elect Donald Trump promised on Sunday to act “very quickly” on pardons for many of the protesters involved in the events of January 6, the Biden administration’s Justice Department is continuing to arrest and try people for actions that occurred almost four years ago while opposing motions to delay trials because of the need for “the prompt and efficient administration of justice.” If the defeat of Kamala Harris constituted at least a partial repudiation of the lawfare against Trump and his supporters, the message appears to be lost on top brass at the DOJ. Prosecutors are pushing ahead with what they consider the department’s crowning achievement: the so-called “Capitol Siege” investigation into the events of Jan. 6, 2021. In what Attorney General Merrick Garland describes as the biggest criminal investigation in Department of Justice history, more than 1,560 people have been charged for federal crimes never before used against political protesters, including under a post-Enron obstruction statute overturned by the Supreme Court in June. At least 1,000 of these defendants have been convicted – either at trial or by accepting plea offers –  with some 650 defendants ordered to serve time in a federal prison. Sentences range…

Trump Signals Shift from Unnecessary Military Intervention with Reaction to Assad Ouster in Syria

Trump and Syria

The unexpected fall of the Assad regime in Syria to a ragtag team of Islamist insurgents plunged the Middle East into a new era of uncertainty and opportunity while putting the world on notice that Donald Trump’s return to power was already uprooting decades of interventionist foreign policy in America.

Trump signaled the shift in dramatic fashion, yawning at the Islamist rebels’ final push into Damascus to oust Bashar al-Assad as not a battle America needed to fight and then using its aftermath to urge Russia, long a backer of Assad, to focus instead on seeking a peaceful end to its war against Ukraine.

Commentary: President Biden Needs to Find the Missing Unaccompanied Migrant Children

Border Surge

In recent months, a disturbing revelation has emerged from the heart of our nation’s immigration system: Over 300,000 unaccompanied migrant children who crossed the U.S. border during the Biden-Harris administration are unaccounted for. An internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report dated Aug. 19, 2024, confirms this alarming statistic, highlighting a profound failure in our duty to protect the most vulnerable.

The DHS report reveals that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lost track of at least 32,000 unaccompanied migrant children, with the whereabouts of up to 323,000 remaining unknown. Without a doubt, we cannot deny the fact that many of these children are now tools and victims of the human sex trafficking industry – a heinous trade that represents the worst of the worst. This staggering number raises urgent questions about the safety and well-being of these children. They are left to fend for themselves in a dangerous world without proper oversight.

Biden-Harris Admin Opened Floodgates for Taxpayer-Funded Sex Changes on Kids

surgery

The Biden-Harris administration opened the door for a massive increase of taxpayer-funded transgender interventions, including child sex-change surgeries, and the Daily Caller News Foundation has obtained enough data to give a partial estimate of the cost.

From January 2018 to September 2023, 16 states spent more than $165 million funding “gender transition services” — including puberty blockers, hormones, and sex-change surgeries — with more than $45 million spent on interventions for children 17 and younger, according to data obtained by the DCNF through a series of public record requests.

The Biden-Harris administration on Tuesday approved a $6.6 billion loan for Rivian after the construction of its electric vehicle factory in Georgia after progress stalled in March despite $1.5 billion in state tax incentives brokered by Governor Brian Kemp.

Trump Will Redirect Billions in Unspent Funds from Biden’s Climate Law to ‘Real Infrastructure’

Construction Plans

President-elect Donald Trump is planning to redirect unspent Inflation Reduction Act funding to spending on infrastructure, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

“President Trump will rapidly defeat inflation and bring down all prices by ending the Democrats’ anti-energy crusade, which will cut energy prices in half during his first 12 months in office,” Karoline Leavitt, Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman, told the DCNF in a written statement. “He will also terminate the Green New Scam and rescind all unspent funds from the so-called ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ and redirect them to spending on real infrastructure.”

Pro-Life States Claim Feds Are Starving Them by Usurping Congress, Ask Supreme Court to Intervene

Xavier Becerra

As the second Trump administration prepares to commandeer the regulatory apparatus, blue states may be hoping the Supreme Court strikes down Biden administration demands on red states to protect them from the same treatment under President Trump.

More than 20 states, nearly as many federal lawmakers and dozens of conservative, pro-life and religious groups asked SCOTUS to overturn a ruling that refused to block the Department of Health and Human Services from cutting off Oklahoma’s Title X family planning funds for not giving women information about abortion.

Commentary: Give Me Fertility, or Give Me Death

Liberal Women

For an estimated two-thirds of America’s unmarried, childless women, the November 5 election was about rejecting a candidate who exuded “toxic masculinity,” along with rebellion against a Supreme Court that overruled their right to “reproductive health care.” And while these childless women and their candidate lost the election, they’re winning a bigger war. They are leading us to extinction.

We now have tens of millions of American women who think unrestricted access to abortions is more important than prosperity, security, freedom, and world peace. And in alarming percentages, these women are not having babies. What this portends transcends politics and strikes to the very future of civilization.

During President Joe Biden’s honeymoon in early 2021, Senate Republicans routinely deferred to the President’s selection for Cabinet secretaries, no matter how radical they were, how much they disagreed with the President’s policies and no matter how awful the selections turned out to be for national security and the individual liberties of the American people.

When Joe Biden was forced off the ticket in late July, the conspirators issued a party line that he was to be praised as a veritable George Washington—in the spirit of Washington’s farewell address of 1796 about why it was a good thing for the first president not to run for a third term.

Commentary: Trump’s Tariffs Will Make America Great Again

Donald Trump

Elections have consequences, and those consequences are dire for free market dogmatists in the Republican Party.

The tariff debate is over. President Donald Trump won, and it is not even close. Americans overwhelmingly support efforts to punish countries like China for their unfair trade practices. Commentary: Making America Safe Again Will Be Donald Trump’s Highest Priority as President

Donald Trump

In my opinion, the most important of all of Donald Trump’s promises during the 2024 presidential campaign was to “make America safe again” by restoring American leadership and peace through strength.

This is because Joe Biden will leave Trump with grave national security challenges around the world. U.S. weakness under Biden, Biden’s frivolous foreign policy that designated climate change as the top U.S. national security threat, and major foreign policy failures have caused U.S. and global security to seriously deteriorate since 2021.

Lame Duck Biden-Harris Admin Working to Undermine Incoming Trump Energy Agenda After Kamala’s Loss

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

The lame duck Biden-Harris administration is already working to undermine the energy agenda of President-elect Donald Trump after he handed Vice President Kamala Harris a crushing loss in Tuesday’s election.

Less than 48 hours after Trump won decisive Electoral College and popular vote victories, federal agencies are moving to interfere with Trump’s plans to expand and unfreeze approvals for liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports and to drill for more oil and gas on American lands, according to Bloomberg News and CNN. The Biden-Harris administration paused approvals for LNG export hubs in January and took numerous actions to restrict energy production on government-controlled lands, and Trump campaigned hard against those policies leading into November.

Commentary: Trump Completes Greatest Comeback in Political History

Donald Trump

Against all odds, former President Donald Trump was reelected on Nov. 5, ousting Vice President Kamala Harris, winning the popular vote for the GOP for the first time since 2004, decisively winning the Electoral College and reclaiming the U.S. Senate, all as only the second former president to win reelection after Grover Cleveland did it in 1892 with non-consecutive terms in what can only be described as the greatest political comeback in American history.

Trump dodged bullets, prosecutions, convictions, censorship and overcame the historic incumbency advantage — first term incumbent parties usually win about two-thirds of the time, but not this time — able to capitalize on inflation outpacing incomes, wages and earnings for too long during the Biden-Harris administration as Americans paid the price at the grocery store and gas pump, more than 8 million illegal border crossings by illegal aliens who Trump promised to deport and endless foreign wars that threaten to spark a wider conflict or even nuclear war.

Biden-Harris Admin Routed ‘Environmental Justice’ Cash to Left-Wing Activists, House Report Details

Climate Justice Alliance

The House Energy and Commerce Committee released a new report Monday detailing how the Biden-Harris administration has given huge amounts of taxpayer cash to left-wing activist groups under the guise of “environmental justice.”

The report highlights how the Biden-Harris Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) used hundreds of millions of dollars from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) — President Joe Biden’s signature climate bill — to line the pockets of left-wing activist groups aligned with the administration’s sprawling climate and green energy agendas. The use of taxpayer funds to support these activist groups, some of which already receive considerable financial support from large environmentalist outfits like the Environmental Defense Fund and the Energy Foundation, is arguably “akin to a taxpayer-funded lobbying operation,” the lawmakers argue in the report.

Commentary: The Left Wants to Delegitimize the Supreme Court

Supreme Court

The Biden-Harris administration has made undermining trust in institutions a central tactic. While they claim to fight authoritarianism, their real battle is against the checks and balances that limit their power. For them, separation of powers, Article III, and the First Amendment are affronts to their quest for centralized authority.

Leaks, once a tool for exposing corruption, are now wielded as political weapons — not to uncover wrongdoing but to sow chaos and erode public confidence in the courts. This is not about transparency; it’s about controlling the narrative.

Commentary: Polls Underestimate Trump Because He Appeals to Americans Who Are Less Political

Trump and Crowd

One of the largest takeaways from Trump’s unexpected success in 2016 – and the inability of pollsters to accurately predict the support he earned in both 2016 and 2020 – is that Trump has continuously appealed to Americans who are less politically engaged.

Adding to the issue, is that Americans with lower political engagement are also generally harder to recruit into political surveys to share their opinions. We see this theme repeatedly, with low propensity voters, especially first-time voters, being much more likely to support Trump than highly active voters. At the same time, lower frequency voters are much harder to reach in polls before election day.

GOP Lawmakers Demand Answers from Biden-Harris Admin on ‘Botched’ Rollout of Huge Jobs Revision

Office Work

Republican lawmakers wrote to Department of Labor (DOL) Acting Secretary Julie Su on Friday, slamming the agency for ignoring an oversight request regarding its “botched release” of data that showed the Biden-Harris administration had wildly overestimated job creation.

The August Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) release  — which revealed the U.S. economy had created more than 800,000 fewer jobs in the twelve months through March than the administration had claimed — was posted roughly a half hour late, with a slew of Wall Street investment firms obtaining details about the report at least 15 minutes before the public. Republican Reps. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina and Bob Good of Virginia issued an oversight request following the incident, which the DOL then failed to respond to, prompting the lawmakers to re-up their inquiry into whether or not the BLS favored Wall Street insiders over the American public, according to the letter obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Commentary: America Needs the Trump Tax Cuts

According to the Gallup Economic Confidence Index, Americans’ outlook on the economy from 2021 to 2024 has been negative.

Contrast this with the economic prosperity seen under the Trump administration. America enjoyed energy abundance, skyrocketing wages, a record number of startups and incredible stock market averages. A large part of this success can be credited to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), a tax cut for families and small businesses that fueled one of the strongest economies in decades.
