Republican Attorneys General Hold Press Conference on Arizona’s Border with Mexico Praising Trump’s Crackdown on Illegal Immigration
Eleven Republican attorneys general held a press conference on Arizona’s border with Mexico on Wednesday to discuss the status of illegal immigration since Donald Trump resumed the presidency. The group was very optimistic about the decreases in illegal immigration and related crimes such as fentanyl dealing.
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach opened the remarks, noting that he co-sponsored Arizona’s SB 1070 in 2010 with the late State Senator Russell Pearce. He said the tough illegal immigration law “really put Arizona on the map as the state that was leading state level efforts to stop illegal immigration and assist the federal government in the intervening 15 years.”

The Wall Street Journal has consistently criticized Trump’s economic policies, particularly his ongoing “trade war” with Canada, over the past several weeks. And certainly, the tensions are regrettable. Trump’s trolling of the insufferable Justin Trudeau, with talk of Canada becoming the “51st state,” perhaps only galvanized the Canadian left. It unfortunately may ensure that the only real hope for a Canadian return to normality, the election of Pierre Poilievre, may be lost.
That said, does the WSJ truly believe that the current $1.7 trillion budget deficit stacked on top of $36 trillion in national debt and an annual $1 trillion trade deficit are sustainable in any fashion? Do they believe any Republican president would have survived the midterms if he cut or “reformed” Social Security? If so, consult the fate of the recommendations of left-wing Barack Obama’s 2010 Simpson-Bowles commission (“The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform”).

Journalist Ben Bergquam of Real America’s Voice (RAV) took a trip to the U.S.-Mexico border recently, where he documented the surge in illegal immigrants coming across the border into the U.S. using the Biden administration’s CBP One mobile app. The app assists them with crossing the border illegally, allowing them to make appointments so a bus will drive them across instead of sneaking across, and they can then choose where they want to fly to within the U.S.
During an interview with War Room’s Steve Bannon, Bergquam summarized the process. “There’s this entire operation — I call it the illegal alien industrial complex — where you’ve got our politicians working with United Nations, and all these NGOs working directly with the cartels in some cases, and often cases, especially in places like this — cartel-controlled territories of Mexico — working directly with them on who to send where, when to send them.
