Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson on Wednesday announced that he will seek re-election this year.
This, after Anderson said in an emailed press release that he had picked up a petition to run for re-election. He said he collected the necessary signatures to qualify for another term as mayor.
Anderson said in the press release that he wants to continue in his current role so that he can help construct a new jail and juvenile services building as well as a new animal control center.
A Facebook page titled Re-elect Rogers Anderson for Williamson County Mayor this week announced a campaign kickoff to benefit the incumbent county mayor. Organizers have scheduled that event for 8 a.m. Central Standard Time on January 15, at 1120 Hillsboro Road in Franklin.
Anderson’s press release said that Williamson County, under his tenure as mayor, has done the following:
• Recruited multiple national, regional, and local corporate headquarters
• Continue to attract new business
• Leads the state with the lowest unemployment rate
• Funded new schools and school expansions
“In addition to serving as county mayor, Anderson has served on multiple regional boards and agencies, including chairman of the Tennessee Hospital Association Board of Trustees Council, past chair of the Metropolitan Planning Organization, and past chair of the Greater Nashville Regional Council,” the press release said.
“He has served on the Williamson Medical Center Board of Trustees during a time of rapid growth of services to the community. Mayor Anderson has maintained one of the lowest property tax rates in Middle Tennessee, while funding education and increasing pay for county employees necessary to provide community services.”
Anderson told The Williamson Herald in 2018 that he served as the Ninth and 10th District county commissioner from 1986 through 2002 and that he was retired from work in commercial insurance.

Time for another Mayor. To many years in office breeds arrogance and corruption .
He failed to tout his leading of one of the most “WOKE” counties in Tennessee.
