Trump Highlights Story About Kemp’s Net Worth Increase While Governor

Former President Donald Trump released a short statement Friday highlighting a story about the net worth of his political rival Gov. Brian Kemp (R), which has reportedly grown by millions since he took office.

“ICYMI: “Kemp’s net worth grew by more than $3M since he took office” said the headline from Trump’s statement.

ICYMI stands for “In Case You Missed It.”

The one-sentence statement simply directed recipients to a story in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution about Kemp’s wealth increase.

“Gov. Brian Kemp’s latest financial report reveals his wealth has grown by more than $3 million since he took office in 2019, thanks partly to a string of real estate holdings and business investments that appreciated in value,” that story says.

Trump, who has endorsed former Senator David Perdue (R-GA) in this year’s gubernatorial race, used the report to suggest that Kemp is making money off of his office.

The former president has made it a personal goal to battle Kemp for what he sees as a betrayal after the 2020 election, where he lost Georgia by a slim margin to President Joe Biden. Trump believes that voter fraud was rampant in the state during the election and that Kemp and his administration did not do enough to investigate the alleged fraud.

Yes, Every Kid

Last week, Trump slammed Kemp as his primary election with Perdue draws nearer, using Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14), who a few voters in Georgia say should be barred from holding office due to her role in the January 6 riots.

“The Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, and Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, perhaps in collusion with the Radical Left Democrats, have allowed a horrible thing to happen to a very popular Republican, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. She is now going through hell in their attempt to unseat her, just more of an election mess in Georgia, including the fact that they will still allow easily corruptible Ballot Boxes for all to cheat with, and have not been able to get a little thing called ‘Signature Verification’ approved,” Trump said in as statement.

Taylor Greene has often said that she believes the election was stolen, echoing Trump’s stance on the issue.

She encouraged Americans to come to Washington and protest on January 6 during the certification of the election. On that day, rioters notoriously swarmed the Capitol Building in Washington in what the far-left has attempted to characterize as an “insurrection.”
