Live from Music Row, Friday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for another edition of Crom’s Crommentary.
CROM CARMICHAEL:
Michael, the story that we’re talking about now in the way that Phil Williams has characterized it is most interesting. And Phil Williams, by the way, is, if he’s anything, saying, he is consistently far-left and consistently partisan, which is quite interesting that he is that far-left. I have concluded that he really wants to get into the social club at Martha’s Vineyard.
You know, Channel 5 is owned by a big company. And it could be that the head of that company, if they allow Phil Williams to continue all his rants from the far-left, that maybe the head of that company already has a home at Martha’s Vineyard, and Phil wants to get up there so he can throw a bunch of people of color off the island, kind of like a survivor.
That’s what happened. Forty-eight people all of a sudden at Martha’s Vineyard where the Survivor TV program said, you will be off the island. And boom, they were put on a bus, and off they went. But what’s so fascinating about Phil Williams is that if you take what he apparently thinks should be taught in school, and that is that we’re all racist and we can’t talk about gender identity unless we’re some kind of phobic.
And the data now shows that for children who are transgender while they are children, Sweden has done a 30-year study. And that 30-year study showed that children when they become adults or as they grow older, are 19 times more likely to commit suicide than the average person.
So if Phil Williams is ignorant of that fact, then we have to give him a pass and base it on his ignorance and laziness, and unwillingness to check on the facts. If he is aware of that fact and he still pushes it, then there are other words that you could describe him, and ignorant would be a kind word in that regard.
But there is a wonderful story in The Epoch Times when I say wonderful, I just mean truthful. And it’s about transgenderism, and it’s about people who are transgendered and wish they hadn’t. But when they did as teenagers, while their minds are still developing and their bodies are still developing, they wish they hadn’t and made a life-changing decision that they couldn’t change back.
Phil Williams has never found a charter school that he liked. And I’ll tell you a funny story about Phil Williams, and that is back when Fred Thompson was running against Jim Cooper for the Senate and they were having a debate on Teddy Bart’s Roundtable. At one point in the show, Tommy Burnett made some claims about Fred Thompson that were false, but Tommy thought they were true.
Fred challenged him on what’s the source of the information. Now Jim Cooper is sitting right straight across from looking like a little sheepdog, didn’t want to talk. And Fred is a big man, and he took his fist and hit the table, and he said, shut up, shut up. You’re a damn liar. That’s what he said.
Well, then after the debate is over, I’m standing there talking to Fred, and Phil Williams comes running over and he says, “Mr. Thompson, Mr. Thompson, during the debate, you said to Tommy Burnett, and I quote, ‘shut up, shut up.’ You’re a damn liar. Is there any part of that statement that you’d like to change?”
And Fred said, “Well, Phil? Yes, there is. My mama told me never to tell somebody to shut up in public. So I’d like to take that part back. I’d like to take back the shut-up part, but the damn liar part stands because it’s the truth. Thank you, Phil. “
(Chuckles) And Phil just stood there because Phil likes to be able to challenge people from afar.
He can’t do it straight up, and that’s why he didn’t attack our guest on this show. The principal of one school who has a fabulous track record of helping the very people that progressives claim they want to help.
But just as we saw with Martha’s Vineyard, they don’t care one wit about lifting a finger to help people of color if it’s going to affect them at all.

Phil Williams is far left and his voice is extremely annoying to listen too as well. I’ve never liked him or his bias. Haven’t watched local news except for weather because it’s all too far left
Phil Williams is an example of the Peter Principle (being promoted beyond your abilities). The apex of his reporting was when he was counting roaches in local restaurants.
I stopped watching all local news stations around 3 years ago. It’s a lot less aggravating. About the only local news I get is from the TN Star. I’ve had my fill of indoctrinating and finger wagging from Dem/Commie media.
