Arizona Ammo Company Donates One Million Rounds of Ammunition to Ukraine and Receives Overwhelming Response

On Monday, Ammo Inc. offered to donate 1 million rounds of ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in support of “their fight for independence and freedom,” according to the company.

The company’s donation was inspired by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky turning down an offer from the United States of evacuation from the capital city Kyiv, saying, “the fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride,” according to FOX News.

Ammo Inc., headquartered in Scottsdale, “designs and manufactures products for a variety of aptitudes, including law enforcement, military, sport shooting and self-defense.” The company was founded in 2016 and is the operator of GunBroker.com.

The formal offer to manufacture ammunition to donate to the Ukraine Armed Forces as they fight for their country’s continued independence was met with “overwhelming support”, the company announced Friday in a press release.

Calling the Ukrainians “smart and hardworking people,” Fred Wagenhals, Ammo’s Chairman & CEO, told FOX News he believes “they will put this ammunition to good use.”

In a separate statement, Wagenhals said, “We’ve received an overwhelming response from our shareholders, customers, vendors and partners in support of our donation offer to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their fight for freedom. I’m grateful for everyone’s generosity and willingness to provide additional financial support to supplement our efforts. The management team is working around the clock to navigate the logistical and legal complexities involved in seeing that the ammunition is swiftly delivered to the proper parties in Ukraine.”

Wagenhals also called upon the company’s “current and incoming shareholders and supporters” who wish to support Ukrainians in real-time by asking them to direct donations to CARE’s Ukraine Crisis Fund.

“We will send out supplemental information about Ukrainian support activities and opportunities as they arise, and appreciate your investing support in AMMO which provides the foundation for the work we have been able to do with the Ukrainian people,” Wagenhals said.
