Senator Josh Hawley Endorses Blake Masters in U.S. Senate Race

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) on Monday endorsed Blake Masters, who is running to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate.

Hawley, who has weighed in on contested primaries across the country, backed Masters because of his commitment to “fight to the woke left” and “secure the border.”

“Proud to endorse @bgmasters for US Senate in AZ. Blake is principled, honest, and tough. He will take the fight to the woke left, Big Tech & Communist China. He will fight to secure the border & get tough on crime. He won’t just talk. He will lead. Can’t wait to serve w/ him,” Hawley wrote in a tweet.

Masters is running in the Republican primary against Attorney General Mark Brnovich, businessman Jim Lamon, retired Arizona National Guard general Michael McGuire, and former member of the Arizona Corporation Commission Justin Olson.

“Honored to be endorsed by Senator Hawley, who is simply outstanding. The Senate will be a very different place this time next year,” Masters responded.

In addition to Masters, Hawley has supported J.D. Vance in Ohio and Vicky Hartzler in Missouri.

Former President Donald Trump, who previously attended a fundraising for Masters, recently signaled his opposition to Brnovich in the race.

“He wants to be politically correct. Because of the amount of time that it took him to do the report, which was endless, his poll numbers have been rapidly sinking. Now, people are upset with the fact that while he states the problem, he seems to be doing nothing about it – he doesn’t give the answers,” the former president wrote.

After blasting the state official, Trump suggested he would not support Brnovich’s run for U.S. Senate.

“The good news is Arizona has some very good people running for election to the U.S. Senate. I will be making an Endorsement in the not too distant future!”
