JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Derrick Morgan celebrated a sack with teammates, all Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles could do was trudge toward the sideline following another wasted possession. The Daily Caller reports that Christian non-profits do more than any government agency to support victims of disasters like hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The story says that faith-based organizations provide the bulk of relief, even when compared to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, quoting a national media story. The National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) works with FEMA to distribute resources in disaster areas and help victims find the help they need. Seventy-five percent of NVOAD’s membership is comprised of faith-based organizations, The Daily Caller reports. The disaster coordination agency’s membership, includes notables like the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and Convoy of Hope, plus many denominational response organizations including those for the Adventists, Disciples of Christ and Episcopalians. There are non-Christian and secular groups as well. Such organizations have the experience and logistical infrastructure to effectively respond to disasters and work with devastated communities in the long-term. Jake Raabe, in the Baptist Standard, speaks out against the “second disaster” created when well-intentioned people send useless items like teddy bears that overwhelm meaningful relief operations. Supply planes could not land in Honduras after Hurricane Mitch ravaged that nation in 1998 because Americans had donated so much used clothing that boxes of…
Read the full storyCommentary: Richard Viguerie Endorses Judge Roy Moore in Alabama GOP Senate Primary
by Richard Viguerie, ConservativeHQ.com Chairman The most powerful slogan in American politics is the simple phrase, “Send them a message.” As the Alabama Republican Senate runoff approaches conservatives can send the Republican establishment an unmistakable message by supporting and voting for Judge Roy Moore for Senate. To “send them a message” is why I urge all my friends and CHQ readers in Alabama to vote for Roy Moore in the September 26 runoff election. If you don’t live in Alabama you can still “send them a message” by contributing to Judge Roy Moore’s campaign through this link. I think it is safe to say that most conservatives wish they had a Roy Moore running in their Republican Senate or Congressional primary, so they could send Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan the message that Alabama’s conservative voters are sending through Roy Moore. But Judge Roy Moore is more than a protest candidate. Through our association in various conservative organizations I have been acquainted with Judge Moore for many years and I can say without hesitation that he’s the real deal; a Bible-believing Christian who lives the values he espouses and who has shown time and again that he can’t be…

WTN 99.7 talk radio host Michael DelGiorno made political news again on Friday when he endorsed Republican State Executive Committeewoman Rebecca Burke of Franklin for the Republican nomination in the Tennessee House of Representatives District 61 primary. Burke announced on Thursday that she is challenging 20 plus year incumbent State Rep. Charles Sargent (R-Franklin), the powerful Chairman of the House Finance, Ways, and Means Committee who voted for Governor Haslam’s gas tax increase in the 2017 session of the Tennessee General Assembly. “Please Tennessee, elect this amazing woman, proven conservative, eloquent, intelligent, servant leader to our State House!! It’s time this seat belongs to the people and NOT to one deal making politician! Burke, a long-time veteran of grassroots conservative activism and Republican politics, announced her challenge to Sargent last week. “Many think that…
