Tennessee Valley Authority Goes Woke, Celebrates Pride Month

In a tweet from last week, a federally funded utility company that serves customers in Tennessee joined the social justice chorus in welcoming LGBT pride month.

“Today marks the first day of June and the first day of Pride! We hope this month is a time for everyone to celebrate being their authentic selves!” the Tennessee Valley Authority  (TVA) said on June 1.

The company also works in portions of surrounding states like Alabama and Mississippi.

It is perhaps an unexpected message from a 90-year-old organization that would normally be considered apolitical, but there is no shortage of pride-related messaging in Tennessee.

Other typically apolitical groups in Tennessee have also joined the Woke chorus, pandering to the far left.

“We’re proud to celebrate #Pride and build a community that welcomes and celebrates authenticity and the love of hockey,” said the Nashville Predators, the state’s professional hockey team, said on June 1.

Nashville SC, the state’s professional soccer club, is also celebrating pride month.

That sports team will have an entire day dedicated to the LGBT month at their stadium.

“Nashville Soccer Club and the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce will join forces to celebrate PRIDE Month by hosting the official Nashville SC PRIDE Night at GEODIS Park on Saturday, June 11, as the club takes on the San Jose Earthquakes at 5 p.m. CT. The event will highlight the LGBTQ+ community and raise funds in support of programming and advocacy initiatives focused on diversity, equity and inclusion,” the club’s website said.

All were joined by the Tennessee Democrat Party in ushering in pride month, who sent out its first message of support on June 1, too.

“We will always stand with LGBTQ+ Tennesseans in the fight for equality. #PrideMonth is about the right to be proud of who you are — everyone deserves to love and live openly and authentically,” the party said.

Nashville is scheduled to host a pride parade, along with several other LGBT-themed events throughout the month.

All the problems our country is having and the TVA is spending money to suck up to this expression of deviancy.

  2. 83ragtop50

I checked TVA’s web site for any mention of a mandate to support special interest causes or events. I was not surprised to not find any such statement in their mission statement.

As someone who is moving to TN to escape this nonsense in the north, I implore of you long time residents to fight this and contain it. Once it starts, it goes right to the children next. It will be in your schools where they will twist children’s minds at a key time of mental development. Fight this folks…trust me. FIGHT!

MH – Sorry to inform you that this garbage is already in Sumner County schools and many other school districts.

Great reason to ignore all sports.

The only sport I recognize is training and proficiency in marksmanship.

The Superbowl is fast approaching and one must be at the top of their game.
