Brent Leatherwood, the Southern Baptist Convention’s president of the church’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) and a Covenant School parent, denounced the individual responsible for leaking three pages of the Covenant School shooter’s manifesto, which were released by Steven Crowder on Monday morning.
Speaking at Woodmont Baptist Church on Monday evening, Leatherwood said, “I want to speak directly to the person who took these images and released them. You are a viper. You’re a member of the law enforcement community and you’ve released evidence in our most vulnerable moment. You’ve now allowed this woman to terrorize our family with bullets to be able to now terrorize us with words from the grave. How could you? What kind of a person does this?”

Leatherwood’s comments come after Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell ordered an investigation from Metro Legal on Monday to determine how the photos of the manifesto were leaked to Crowder.
Shortly after O’Connell’s investigation announcement, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) released a statement failing to address the authenticity of leaked documents but instead claiming, “The photographs are not MNPD crime scene images.”

Earlier in the day, a spokesman for MNPD originally told The Tennessee Star that it “has no idea” where Crowder obtained the documents.
The developments come as sources in the Tennessee General Assembly who have seen the manifesto by MNPD have confirmed to The Star that the documents released by Crowder are indeed part of the documents authentically written by Hale obtained by MNPD.
In May, Star News Digital Media Inc., the parent company of The Star, filed two lawsuits against MNPD and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seeking the release of the manifesto. Both suits remain active.

I think you all have it right.
In my humble opinion Brent Leatherwood is someone trying to hide something. The manifesto should have released right after the event, why was it not and who stopped it? Why do we hear that the families did not want it released, to me it’s a crock of you know what. Whoever released some pages is a hero to the greater population who have the right to know why this sick confused person did what she/he did. I have friends that live an alternative lifestyle and are not as crazy or demented as this person was. We the people want the rest of the manifesto released.
Somehow the leaker has become the villain and the killer has become the victim. Left-tard world.

Is this the same Brent Leatherwood who is a never Trump Republican? Who was the TRP (Tennessee Republican Party) Executive Director when the then TRP leadership tried to slight President Trump of the rightful number of at large electors? The same Leatherwood who claimed Trump supporters were responsible for violence at Trump Rallies when it is the Trump supporters who were being attacked by Democrats/leftists? The same Leatherwood who made the 3/16 SEC meeting private so that voting, grassroots TN Republicans could not attend and would not witness the insider dealings against President Trump?
If it is the same Leatherwood, he has a pattern against transparency … why?
Why does he think that his fellow Tennesseans should be shut out of information that could help inform effective policies? What does he have to hide? Why ought this insane woman’s writings be kept from the public when all other’s are public knowledge within a short time of their crimes?
I don’t trust a person who thinks they are the only people entitled to knowledge, information and access to meetings, etc. Transparency!

The partial release of this (these) document exposes the results of the democrat/liberal/socialist/marxist ideology that is being forced down the throats of Americans.
Under the Biden administration (and before) it’s OK to want to change your gender, and hating people who disagree is now the accepted norm. Then we have blatant anti-white racism that is condoned and supported by the federal government.
This persons abhorrent, inexcusable behavior needs to be brought to the light of day. The current administration and their globalist handlers are working non-stop to destroy our American way of life. All of these inhumane actions by socially deranged people is just the beginning of a decade of social and moral disintegration that will sweep the world.
Oh this guy is way high up in Church Leadership. He’s out of touch and has his own ego. If he was an average citizen he would be grateful for the release of this.
The public has had a right to know what’s in this manifesto since the day the crime happened. Seeing the leaked pages, it is obvious there was a deliberate cover up, due to its ideological nature, that goes against the media narrative on mass shooters. As to why Mr. Leatherwood is reacting the way he is, is a puzzlement.
Well, the local media is all lockstepping with the signed, notarized and apostilled narrative this morning:

Other than that take, a 100% blackout of the contents of the leaked documents.
Seems to me that Leatherwood’s thinking in this instance is almost as ‘muddled’ as the ‘thinking’ (if one could call it that) of the ‘trans’ shooter, Audrey Elizabeth Hale. Seems to me that Leatherwood is another ‘goof-ball’ Southern Baptist Convention President of its Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC). (Leatherwood’s predecessor, Russel Moore, was no better, in my opinion. In fact, under Moore’s leadership, things at the ERLC became so bad that the SBC almost abolished the ERLC at its 2018 national meeting.) How is it that the SBC keeps appointing these people who continually publicly engage in nothing more than radical leftist group think? What is wrong with the national SBC organization? The SBC’s ERLC hasn’t been ‘right’ since Richard Land left as President in 2013.
And what is the ‘great wrong’ of publishing the Covenant shooter’s suicide letter? What is it that the Establishment does not want you to know or think about? Let me simply quote from yesterday’s (11-6-23) Gateway Pundit website article entitled, “Nashville Democrat Mayor OUTRAGED that Trans Mass Shooter’s Manifesto Shows Killer Was Leftist Racist, Who Wanted to Murder “Privileged” White “Crackers” — Orders City’s Legal Team to Investigate”, by Jim Hoft:
“The attack appeared to be a deadly hate crime by a deranged ‘trans’ shooter against Christian Americans. The media has largely ignored the attack that resulted in six deaths, including three children. . . . Mayor Freddie O’Connell is outraged that the world now knows the ‘trans’ mass murderer was a racist who hated white children.”
THIS is what the Establishment does NOT want you to know. And incidentally, a couple of additional points—first, from all appearances, Audrey Elizabeth Hale, is/was white herself; and second, I think it is interesting to note that the so-called ‘trans’ Hale (female to male) nevertheless signed her suicide letter on the day of the shooting/her death by MNPD officers, Audrey.
And on the basis of THIS, the Biden Administration wants to ban ownership of firearms. Any excuse by the Establishment to end your Second Amendment rights and come get your guns.
It would be nice to know if this shooter was one of the CIA MK-Ultra programmed shooter. We know Covid 19 and 9/11 were inside jobs. And many of these shooters, in the past, have had CIA ties. Is it me, or is government a bill ole racket?
