Teresa “Milo” Consuelo Youngblut and Maximilian Snyder, two reportedly transgender members of the alleged Zizian cult, are facing charges in unrelated murders in Vermont and California. Both attended the Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington, which was famously attended by Microsoft founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen.
Youngblut (pictured here), 21, is the Zizian member who stands accused of fatally shooting U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland in Vermont last month, when the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) stated the biological woman fired a handgun without warning when a uniformed agent stopped her on January 20.

According to the DOJ, authorities were made aware of Youngblut and Felix “Ophelia” Bauckholt, a German citizen she was traveling with, after a hotel employee called to express concern about the pair leaving wearing tactical gear.
Snyder (pictured above, right) is similarly now in law enforcement custody, but the alleged Zizian member was arrested for allegedly murdering Curtis Lind, an 82-year-old man who The New York Post reported provided free housing to the cult during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lind apparently took pity on the group when it was living on a dilapidated houseboat in Vallejo, California, in 2020. The outlet reports that he elected to allow the cult to live in trailers on property he owned during the pandemic, envisioning their presence as an artist’s colony.
Following the end of the pandemic, Lind apparently asked for payment in exchange for their continued use of his property in 2022. After this request, PBS reported that purported Zizian members Emma “Amir” Borhanian, Alexander “Somni” Leatham, and Suri Dao allegedly attacked the landlord.
Lind was reportedly discovered with a sword in his back after the attack and lost his eye during the struggle. Borhanian was killed during the struggle.
Prosecutors built a case largely dependent on the 82-year-old’s testimony, but Lind was killed on January 17, with law enforcement blaming Snyder, who was arrested on January 24.
While Youngblut and Snyder were arrested at opposing ends of the country, multiple sources indicate the alleged killers could have met years earlier at the Lakeside School.
According to The Seattle Times, Snyder’s mother called authorities to request a wellness check for her son after seeing that Youngblut had been arrested. The outlet noted that Snyder attended “high school with Youngblut at Seattle’s prestigious Lakeside School.”
She was informed that her son was in police custody for his alleged murder of Lind days earlier.
The outlet reported that classmates were unsure whether Snyder and Youngblut knew each other at the school but confirmed they “found each other online after graduation” and that both studied computer science in college.
By the time of their arrests, Youngblut and Snyder had applied for a marriage license. While NBC News claimed the couple planned to wed in the near future, Seattle Times reported that Snyder’s mother understood the couple to already be married.
It is unclear how the former attendees of Gates’ alma mater, the upscale Lakeside School where tuition currently costs families nearly $45,000 per year, became connected to the Zizian group led by alleged killer Jack Amadeus LaSota, a biological man who identifies as a transgender woman (pictured above, left).
Before allegedly faking his death in 2022, the purported cult leader wrote extensively about the Zizians’ beliefs on his blog, which reportedly include philosophical veganism and the belief that artificial intelligence and other emerging technology will result in Nuremberg-style trials for meat eaters.
LaSota was arrested in Maryland on Sunday and, on Tuesday, was ordered to be held without bail alongside two other Zizian members.
