Newly-announced scholarships for college students funded by the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) Foundation and in partnership with the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) – Memphis Chapter will only be distributed to minority students, BCBST announced in a press release.

A total of six BlueCross Power of We Scholarships – each worth $10,000 – will be awarded to students selected by NAHSE who meet certain criteria, with one requirement being part of a minority group.
The scholarship will only be distributed to “promising” minority students that “have the intent to obtain a degree and pursue a career in the field of health care,” according to the press release by BCBST.
Additional requirements for the scholarship include: classifying as a sophomore or junior by the application deadline; maintaining a minimum 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale); being at least 17 years old by the application deadline; being a citizen of the United States; being a resident of Tennessee AND attending an college/university within the state of Tennessee; and being enrolled during the current academic school year and planning to enroll in the 2023-2024 school year.
The awards will be paid out in lump sums and distributed by the recipients’ universities.
“These scholarships are a much-needed resource for many bright and talented students in our state,” Ron Harris, vice president of corporate workforce diversity for BlueCross, said in a statement. “The financial assistance will help them achieve their dreams while improving access to care and overall health for our neighbors across Tennessee.”
The deadline to apply for the BlueCross Power of We Scholarship is February 12.
The BCBST Foundation established the BlueCross Power of We Scholarship in 2013 in order to “address the historic lack of opportunity and health disparities, including underrepresentation in the medical field, that minority populations face,” according to the foundation’s website.

White kids should self identify as Native American, or Black, or Green, or whatever “minority” is required. That’s a LOT smaller stretch than a 200 pound bearded guy identifying as a female. Show me tha money…
Interesting. BCBS offers scholarships for minority TN students – but they won’t offer you health insurance in the TN market. Go figure.
Discrimination.
When white people in america are the minority (any day now) they will really be in the money! Of course they will then have to change the meaning of minority to ‘white people’. If dems win any more elections they will start rounding up whites for concentration camps, because they are the party of ‘inclusion’.
