Both CNN and MSNBC Refuse to Air Senator Graham’s Full Opening Statement

by Debra Heine

Senator Lindsey Graham gave a powerful opening statement to kick off Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, but if you were watching CNN or MSNBC, you wouldn’t know it.

Horowitz is on Capitol Hill to testify before senators about his report on the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia.

His report, published Monday, concluded that the investigation was adequately predicated and not influenced by bias, but his team found many disturbing deficiencies and inaccuracies in how the bureau conducted its probe.

Both MSNBC and CNN blocked their viewers from watching Graham’s entire opening statement.

Apparently, MSNBC switched to full screen coverage the minute ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein began her statement.

Rather than covering Graham’s opening statement, CNN aired Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) blathering about the impeachment of President Trump, an update on Boeing airplane safety and a discussion about capital punishment, the Daily Caller reported.

During his important and effective opening statement, Graham read the damning text messages from FBI lovebirds Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, and Kevin Clinesmith, the FBI lawyer who was referred for criminal prosecution for improperly altering a document, making it clear that something beyond innocent “irregularities” was going on between the FBI investigative team.

“What’s been described as a few irregularities becomes a massive criminal conspiracy over time to defraud the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] FISA court, to illegally surveil an American citizen and to keep an operation open against a sitting president of the United States, violating every norm known to the rule of law,” Graham charged.

“You darkeners of counsel, who would make the property, lives and religion of millions depend on the evasive interpretations of musty parchments; who would send us to antiquated charters of uncertain and contradictory meaning, to prove that the present generation are not bound to be victims to cruel and unforgiving despotism, tell us whether our pious and generous ancestors bequeathed to us the miserable privilege of having the rewards of our honesty, industry, the fruits of those fields which they purchased and bled for, wrested from us at the will of men over whom we have no check.

“Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, What should be the reward of such sacrifices? Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, and supplicate the friendship, and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth?

“If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom – go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.” — Sam Adams

Hard to believe. While the DOW heads toward 30K, our POTUS is being impeached at a clown show in Washington DC, that is costing taxpayers 10’s of millions of dollars. It is difficult during these times to act with gentleness and wisdom, and hold a civil tongue. “…deliver us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil…”.

I’m not sure this is true. My husband and I watched him a while, and then switched it off. I guess maybe they went to commentators? We did notice that FOX did not carry all the Republican representatives on the impeachment hearings (yesterday). I know because every time they started to shout, I would cycle through the channels to watch something else and FOX was either playing a commercial or something. That’s just our random sampling of it.
I guess if you want to see every minute, C-Span is the option.
My point is that someone could say FOX refused to air all the Republican representatives if they just wanted to stir people up.

And this is a surprise? Because they factually report without bias perhaps, once in a while, then feed the public a feel good story laced with socialist non sense. I have no use of their drivel. The public watching those networks and reading the likes of the NYT and Time Magazine have little hope of ever understanding how they might reach their full potential in a free society with the ability to self govern.
